I know that time does not really stand still and I do know that we can’t turn back time but in my garden you can cheat a little. If you sit for a while, wander for a time, read a book or daydream away it will always be 10 minutes before 2.00 by my clock. This French ’beauty’ never changes – her hands are forever poised in the same position, promising a long lazy afternoon ahead.
To loose track of time this weekend – that’s my plan, xv.

What a great clock and a great plan for the weekend!
This is a great looking clock and somehow it reminds me of Secret Garden. Don’t know why, I don’t think they had clocks in the secret garden…
Now I know the problem in my garden! We put a sundial in our garden so we know the daylight is slipping away. I need to get a lovely clock instead!
Thank you for your discussions of the french woman. It got met thinking about so many things and manicures were amongst them. (Americans are fond of acrylic nails and I find the a bit obnoxious). Back to the inspirational thoughts – your post was the inspiration for taking the former homeless ladies out for a manicure!!! Thank you for the great posts.
I like your plan, Vicki. Unfortunately I will be so busy with ballet rehearsals, violin ensemble and ballet performance this weekend with the children, I will have to keep track of time all weekend.
Losing track of time is my specialty. I don’t even need a clock that remains just minutes before 2.
I used to get in trouble all the time. My mom would ask me where my head was, but it would have been too long of an answer. I daydream or get focused on what I’m doing and hours could pass without my knowing.
I like this habit of mine. It helps me be in the moment and enjoy if fully and with brilliant gusto!

Hi Vicki, Stopping the clock today, just for a little while sounds like a wonderful idea…stop the clock at the moment of perfection–just for a day or two–I just sent my youngest off (again) to find fame and fortune (after having him at home for a year to heal)–you pick them up, dust them off, apply potions and bandaids, feed them well, set them on their feet so that they can try their wings again. Motherhood is bittersweet at times. I think I will trim my roses today after moving into my new location. Have a wonderful week-end. Thanks for your daily reminders to be grateful for everything.
Someone once told me that watches and clocks are always at ten minutes to two in advertisements because they look like they are smiling.

And two o’clock is my favourite hour of the afternoon.
The perfect hour for the clock to be stuck – that hour when one would look up and think that it was time to get ready for some evening duty. I always like to say to my husband on his day off, ‘Well, I guess it’s time for you to get ready for work,” just to hear him say, “I don’t have to work today.” Hope it’s dreamy.

Apropos your clock, I recently learned that clock sellers nearly always use the time 10 to 2 or 10 past 2 when displaying timepieces because it is the most open and friendly view of the face!
