i love a french font…

the combination of writing styles… the simple with the extravagant loops…

the flamboyant squiggles on the capital letters…

the roundness and continuity… perfect for talking food…

the slant almost suggesting a direction to follow…

the bold capitals but still with a little flair… inviting me to enter…

and the very simple… as if the brush knows each and every stroke… clipped to perfection…

Yes… it’s official.. I am mad about a French font… xv

In my mural work and painting old furniture, I have translated poems, quotes into french and then paint it. Usually in my own cursive with a bit of curl. It does somehow just look so pretty. Nice post

Hi Vicki, that beautiful cursive has become so recognisibly French. I am drawn to its allure, the promise of something special to eat, a place to go, a product you'll enjoy. Of course the French language makes it even more beautiful xxCorrina.

  6. I wanted to say congratulations when I read 'images by Vicki Archer' – too many blogs and websites emerging now with beautiful location photography – only to discover most are pics repinned from Pinterest while the blog owner sits in their bedroom :( … Quintessentially French .. thank you

They're all beautiful, and how many times have any of us admired the chalkboard menu writing? It's the French way, bringing beauty to everything. This was great!

My favourite is the first one with combination of styles.

  23. What a beautiful post Vicki,

Hi Sweetie – how lovely to almost include me in this post. The second image is missing an 'i' in Mille, but that is inconsequential detail. Interestingly you've described the font as 'flamboyant', not a word anyone has EVER used to describe moi, but hey I'll take it this one time, woo hoo! MOTH has the penmanship/script skills here, for a bloke his writing style is quite extraordinary.
    Millie xx
