Behind Le Sacre Coeur in Montmartre...
Not a lot other than that they are both superb visual treats, in their own ways….
I love the weekends… don’t you? A chance to catch up on the week that was…
I edit my photos… play with them, file them… decide whether or not to delete them… (a lot of that happens). One thing that has changed in my life over the last few years is my passion for photography… I rarely ever leave home without a camera and I take such pleasure in snapping the ordinary and the not so ordinary… Like this shot of Le Sacre Coeur in Montmartre… Carla who writes about all things photography showed me this quiet little cobbled street and this impressive view…
I look at my favourite online magazines… I am really becoming enamoured with these formats and how easy they are to enjoy… Have you read the new summer issue of Parisienne Farmgirl? I lazed in bed yesterday morning and felt totally inspired… that’s the subject this quarter… inspiration…
I read my favourite blogs… there are so many I can’t live without… so the weekends are a time to see what I have been missing and a chance to discover new sites… I have recently been following The Magical Christmas Wreath Company and their adventures throughout England… and I always look in on my friend Jeanne as she prepares to start another of her expat adventures…
and of course there is online browsing… it’s sale time and that is a very big temptation… you might have gathered by now that I adore fashion… almost as much as I am enamoured with France…
and sometimes… I even go outside…
What was your lazy indulgence this weekend?… xv

Ahh… the many joys of the weekend! Somehow, weekends tend to be my favorite part of the week.
Beautiful pic of Montmartre. I decided to stay an extra day in Paris this September just to take time to wander around the streets, camera in hand. I will be walking around the hills and villages around Avignon and the Lavandou with the same purpose, collecting moments, images to become my creative palette.
What a lovely photo!
With two of my three children at camp, we had a very quiet weekend! We also had an extreme heat wave in Atlanta, with temperatures reaching 106, so we did not venture outside much during the day, but went for a swim in the morning and the evening. Overall a lazy weekend – worked on a blog post, read for hours and hours (reading the Game of Thrones series), cooked a little, went out to eat too. Overall a wonderful summer weekend!
Glad to read that all is well-
Holly
love your post! Weekends are like dessert, aren’t they? Have a wonderful week.

Had never seen Parisinne Farmgirl so thanks–it was a treat! I find myself getting lost for hours, so many wonderful things to see on line!! Have a great day!!
Vicki,
I did a lot of lazing around this weekend. Since it’s rare for me to actually relax, it felt very nice.
Enjoy your weekend and the upcoming week and thanks for the beautiful image and the links. Collage of Life looks like fun.

I’m in a big hurry to get to NY so I’ll just say how much I love your photograph. The angle and the color are beautiful. I will confess to not knowing who the figure is (an angel) and what has happened or what is the story.
I need a nice weekend, it’s been work work work but that’s what a house is, getting it done.
xo have a lovely day, though you are already into the afternoon!
My entire weekend was a lazy indulgence! It was very hot and humid here in southern Minnesota (the heat index made it feel like a swampy 105 degrees!), so I stayed inside in the air conditioning with icy-cold sparkling lemonade, fresh cherries and a book about Marilyn Monroe.
Of course I always am excited to see what you have been up to at French Essence + now follow Carla because of you. Adore both of your blogs. Happy new week. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
We have really taken a liking to photography as well. Of course the online shopping can become too addicting as well!
Aren’t weekends just lovely! What a fantastic photo of Montmartre – it’s a lovely area of Paris and always brings back such happy memories of my first visit as a seven year old. I had just started learning French at school too.

Vicki…So nice to leave my paperwork for a few moments…just had to read your latest post. A big sigh as I did…you are so kind to mention my blog and I am delighted to see all these other inspiring links…many that are new to me. This is what keeps the blogging world going around and around. Don’t you just love it! Hope you are having an equally relaxing Monday.

Brilliant photograph, Vicki…I can’t seem to leave home without my camera these days
Online browsing is definitely addictive.
Have a great week.

Vicki..if you keep introducing me to all these wondeful blogs and links and products…I’ll never leave the house….I have become enamoured of so many of your suggestions!!!! Thank you
My lazy indulgence this weekend was white cotton pajamas and air-conditioning.
It was 106F here.
Hottest days on record.
Good afternoon, Vicki!
Well, we are currently having a HEAT WAVE here in Minneapolis, Minnesota and we are crazy enough to be working in the house! I am peeling off two layers of wallpaper with several layers of paint but in order to be effective, we are using a steamer!!!!!
My indulgence is always visiting my favorite blogs. I love this photo you have of Montmartre, my favorite nook in Paris! I was asked by the Parisian Farmgirl MONTHS ago to contribute to her magazine….now I wish I had!
I must indulge myself somehow, someway this week. Too much hard work going on here!!
BISOUS, Anita
Beautiful Montmarte. So lovely. Heading over to Net-a-Porter now. Thank you for sharing! And thank you Vicki for adding me to your blogroll! I love reading your posts. Shiree’
Vicki,
Great photo. I am trying to work out who the fabulous winged figure on top of the dragon is on the rooftop?
I have just arrived back in home and am so happy to see you mention our blog amongst these other beautiful blogs. It is a pleasure to have you as a follower.
My lazy indulgence this week in the midst of racing around was to find myself spending an hour leaning on a gate in the countryside feeding a random horse, with no appointments or must do lists in my head. Just me, a horse and a bag of tasty treats. Heaven!

I have a very similar photo I took in Peru..wonder if it’s the same?
Sounds like a lovely lazy weekend – and we’re so lucky to be able to benefit from your passion for photography. My favorite guilty lazy weekend pleasure is lingering over my espresso and book (and staying in my jammies) well into the morning. Heaven! Hope your week is as lovely as your weekend! XO
Spending the entire day at Ogunquit Beach in Maine with my sisters and their families! We all have summer houses here so we meet in morning at beach then, Low tide @ 5, so the wine will be on the beach by 7, watching the kids play until its dark! Enjoy these lovely summer days everyone
My husband and I stayed in Montmartre area when we visited Paris and loved the area. I have such fond memories of that view from Le Sacre Coeur! Hope you have another fabulous weekend!
