Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld… some would say the king and queen of French fashion… have worked together to produce some of the most incredible images of Chanel’s ‘little black jacket’… Their project, shot by Lagerfeld and styled by Roitfeld, is a celebration of this French classic… Actors, fashionistas and style gurus… 109 celebrities… wearing the ‘little black jacket’… If you are in any way a fan of Chanel, you will adore these photographs… The book is a collection of images of the same jacket, worn in so many ways.. it is off beat, it is eccentric.. but it is superb eye candy…

Oh to own a Chanel little black jacket! It looks like a beautiful book and I particularly like the image above. I will have to add it to my neverending book wishlist!

I loved the making of the jacket!! I sewed for years and while I enjoyed it very much, it wasn’t too exciting. That video made it seem exciting!
Oh I will check out the book – I have two Chanel jackets and I treasure them, so very timeless.
Talking of books, love your book! I have just ordered the 2nd book.

Yay!!! I’m so happy right now. Thank you again Vicki!!

Bonjour Vicki!
I just got your email and sent you my address! I am ecstatic and YES, it is just right for me!!! MERCI MILLE FOIS! And I will wear my little dangling stars that you KNOW I love so, with a little diamond stud on the second piercing….
OK….let’s talk little black jackets. I have at least three of them from……….ANTHROPOLOGIE! And I take care of those jackets because one of them especially, has the sweetest little silk ruffle around the edge going up the front. Simple lines like a Chanel, and so versatile. I wear a pearl choker with that one and of course, a black pencil skirt.
That first photo is stunning with the stark white roses. Oh how I love black, French fashion and Chanel. She was a bold woman who made something from almost nothing. THAT is genius!
Bonne journée ma chère, et merci! Anita
Vicki,
THANK YOU so much! I am so looking forward to receiving my French braid …. THANK YOU!!!!
I absolutely love Carine Roitfeld…. her style, her charm, her previous job …. Love it all!

I’ve been seeing images of the book on Pinterest, and I’m thinking I will need to buy it for my sister-in-law, who loves Chanel. It’s fabulous!
I can’t believe I’m one of the winners! Lucky me! Thank you so much, Vicki! Your giveaways are so generous . . . and so creative.
Love,

I love the roses in her hair!
What an amazing -and fun – video of Chanel’s LBJ. We have so much to thank her for, fashion would never be the same without her!
Thanks for bringing us so much beauty always Vicki.

Hi Vicki,
Love this post, the image is so powerful and strong!
You never can go wrong with Chanel and Lagerfeld!
Loving your blog,
Tasha
I am LUCKY enough to have a LBJ from Chanel-it goes with everything! xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
J’adore Vicki! The video making-of is fun to watch, and I loved seeing all these famous women during the shoot… Poor Virginie Ledoyen did not luck out and had to wear that very bouffant hairdo! And that unfortunate lady on the high heels almost went down… Great publicity for Chanel. Lots of fun for the viewers. Thank you for that little treasure… perfect for those of us who – unlike Sarah Jessica P. – are not lucky enough to own a “Little Black Jacket…” – -Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
Oh, now this was quit a treat today. I loved the video. Cheers, and thanks as always for bringing us “new” and “fresh”.
Best, Karen in CT
Those roses! I’m desperately trying to figure out what I’m going to wear for my 10th annual holiday harp concert…10th annual deserves something spectacular, right?
Spectacular like a LBJ and some roses???
ooooh

Enjoyed watching the photo shoot and will look for the book! Thanks, Vickie!
Oh Vicki
I want that jacket too – but I want that face and body MORE!!!
I want to look like that again – what happened!!!
If only we knew how beautiful we were at that age…. sadly we had other expectations!
CONGRATULATIONS to the lucky winners of the beautiful chemise – Vicki never disappoints – I was lucky enough to win an exquisite Diptique lavande candle from Vicki – I light it every night. My darling daughter lives in France (I’m in New Zealand) and lighting this beautiful candle somehow brings her into our room – precious…
Thank you Vicki for your wonderful inspiration!!
