Do you ever see a photograph that inspires you to create your own scene?
I was browsing Pinterest yesterday… what a fun place to play… and I saw an image of a table-setting that I loved… That was all I needed… I created a new board, les tables… and I started planning my own table… for no particular reason… other than the mood struck… ‘Soft’ was my frame of mind… rose colours, florals, a touch of white, a french feel… a vintage ambience…
If you are feeling in a rose coloured mood and have a fondness for the ‘shabby chic’ style of mixing and matching… here is the ‘how’ and the ‘where’… xv
A ROSE COLOURED TABLE

The Circlet Wine Glass… here
The Vintage Cutlery… here

Fleur de Lys Plate… here
Candle Holder… here
and to hold the flowers and fresh herbs… I would love them in a galvanised tub… here

Sounds lovely Vicki. I love Pinterest,it gives me so much inspiration too. x
IT is certainly a time trap… for me anyway…:)
bonjour vicki! oh how j’adore vintage cutlery! the flea markets here are just what i had imagined. we are here for 3 years and i have a feeling i’ll be WAY over my shipping limit going back to the states! …and a quick question…if i purchased a chandelier here..would i be able to have it rewired to use back in the states? i’m drooling over the chandeliers!
Yes.. that is no problem from my experience… I have re-wired several times… Just think about where the electricians can chase the wires when they are converting the chandelier… in other words where they can hide them.. :0
Your table inspiration is perfect for a summer meal. Since i don’t cook, I always pay a lot of attention to my table settings, love to improvise, create atmosphere. “My favorite Tablescape ” on my Pinterest must hold more images than any of my other boards.
I am coming for a long look Francine…
I can see this table with the burlap and the greenery… very soft but rich at the same time… but then… I always favour the pinks… all pinks…
Oh, I am sure you have seen me around Pinterest and yes, it is a wealth of inspiration for me! My home is decorated à la Pinterest, and of course due to the beauty of French, Belgian and American blogs!
This is a wonderful list of sources dear Vicki! Anita
I have of course seen your Pinterest boards Anita… so beautiful… as I am sure your home is…
I remember a hairdesser, who had rose colourd mirrors, you looked woderful. I have not seen anywhere before or since. A touch of rose is always good for the mood. xS
I use ‘rose’ coloured light globes … when I can get them… for that same reason… it makes us all look much prettier…
Pinterest can definitely be addictive but it’s been a huge help for me, the shop, etc…I truly wish I had more time to be on it! This post is great…but it’s making me remember how much I’m wanting those plates from Anthropologie! My sister has them and they are wonderful! I got on a Rose Colored glass kick a few years ago and became of the proud owner of rose colored wine glasses at an auction! About 24 of them! They are so fragile they have to be hand washed…therefore, they don’t get used often but they are certainly beautiful! Loved this post!
I love all of the Anthro china and glass ware… I am gradually collecting a little over the months… I like mixing it in with my other pieces…
pink and green are so fresh together
Yes, they are…:)
And the touch of fresh herbs really makes the tulips stand out and the ‘table’ smell beautiful…
Beautiful! Love the combination of soft greens and pale inks. Like diving head first into a Ladurée box. A lovely table for a Valentine’s day party, I think. Or to welcome spring. Or just because you’re seeing the world through rose colored glasses. Thanks for the inspiration!
Rose coloured glasses.. always the wat to view the world…:)
I always enjoy Pinterest(note to self- Self, spend more time on Pinterest!)finding time to spend there is something I have to do.
Adore your table setting. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
Time… always the problem Peggy…
… I can’t stay off my Pinterest boards … everything else on the internet has greatly diminished for me, sadly … Yesterday I realized that Ines has a new October video (I think) not yet seen.
I swore no more boards, as I like to keep pins and boards down to just the best and favorites … but I’m up to 47 .. NO MORE … I think less is more, and I delete ones that lose lustre.
Before Pinterest, I just snatched things I saw on the web and saved to my “stolen pictures” computer album. ADDICTING, I started setting a timer and keep to it.
I’ve enjoyed reading all these comments … being the addict.
Such a fun post, again.

… and I loved your images today …
What a wonderful conversation piece the Library print napkins would make at the dinner table. I have the Fleur de Lys tumblers {for about 12 years} – I use them as tea light holders on the dinner table… it looks so romantic.
ahhhhh, the rosy glass! that alone is so inspiring!

So pretty….I have yet to venture into the Pinterest realm!
Just having a coffee and enjoying catching up on your posts after a wonderful holiday (The relaxing continues for a while longer reading your blog!!) I love these muted tones for a table setting – so much to admire…in particular the vintage cutlery and the Fleur de Lys tumbler in the perfect shade of pink.
Very, very pretty! There is no more beautiful color scheme than pink and that minty shade of green.
You know how much I love your style Vicki….mixmatched, vintage, rose coloured…I think you have covered it all. Sending you very best wishes for a lovely weekend…
