I am all for sharing beauty secrets… it’s the only way… we need all the intelligence we can muster…
Clarins Double Serum is my latest find… I do like a serum… and I have mentioned my tried and tested ones before… here and here…
I believe in mixing the serums up a bit… using the same skincare products over and over is less effective… skin, like everything else becomes accustomed…
This latest Double Serum from Clarins is working for me… I like the texture, it applies well… and it is making my skin feel very hydrated… At this time of the year, I need all the help I can get when it comes to replenishing moisture…
Just thought I would pass it on… xv

You know, like anything else in life, we need to incorporate change, energy, a stirring up of the waters…and our skin is no different! I notice with my hair, that is needs a different shampoo from time to time. I think I am going to look into this serum because I have forgotten that I am not 25 anymore. My skin is good, but it has needs that I often forget, for a woman of un certain âge! HYDRATED is the key word here my dear, because where I live in the upper midwest, the cold weather is not only brutal, but the climate is very dry. So I forget that applying more doesn’t equate to better. Hmmmm…..gotta check your recommendation out TODAY! (love your salle à bain!)
Anita
Hi Vicki,
How are you?
Not sure how the humidity is where you live, but here in New York winters can be very dry indoors.
Your tip is very well timed…as I was looking for a good serum.
Thanks for sharing.

I am using Clarins new serum, too. Nothing like it. It is great for winter skin and mine is no exception having been dry and somewhat irritated this year. Clarins makes some of the best products and I have used a lot of them for years. Highly recommended!
In keeping with the theme of beauty products, I just want to tell you I picked up a make-up primer the other day and absolutely love the results! Thanks for sharing that beauty secret. x Katie
Always a pleasure…
I agree that it’s beneficial to mix the serums up a bit. I know I do that myself. Right now, I’m using Mario Badescu’s Hyaluronic Emulsion with Vitamin C. I love what that does to my skin. But it’s the SKII mask that I’m totally addicted to. Truly miraculous!

It truly is… isn’t it…
Is the mirror in the photo yours? It is gorgeous, so could you please let me know where to find one like it? Yes, agree, skin care is key to keeping us looking good!
No sadly not… it is gorgeous… and I am not sure where it came from…
Vicki… the best product that I have found for skin desperately needing hydration is Clinique’s “Moisture Surge Intense” which is a gel-creme. The Moisture surge has dramatically improved the moisture level of my skin and I can’t say enough about it…! I have been pairing it with their “Repairwear Laser” serum.
I had a teacher that said “you wouldn’t take medicine that had not been shaken up so should you do for your skin, hair, relationships, business, shake them every now & then” what good advise! I will look at your suggestions, then shake it up!. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
Loving that teacher’s brilliance, Peggy…
In interests of sharing came across an australian range Rationale. Was very expensive but after 1 month (or maybe lasted 2 months – still have young children so mind still gone sorry!) of using my skin glowed and felt could go bare faced (VERY unusual for my skin). Unfortunately a second order currently a little out of my price range. I would love to have continued. Decided to try ASAP instead but so far not the same dramatic results unfortunately. Anyway so would definitely recommend Rationale. Is a 6 step process – 3 in the am (2 serums then a sunscreen) and 3 in pm (a cleanser, serum and then cream). With 3 small children I thought this would be too time consuming but actually no problem.
I have never heard of this one… but sounds very good… Shall look for it when I am in Sydney…
My lifesaver is the Clarins Clarins Skin Beuaty Repair Concentrate for Sensitive Skin, I can’t do without it.
Clarins double serum is the only product I always go back after have tried others and find out nothing is better than this. Living in a very
humid climate it also works here as a day and night treatment and the price is really worth it. It can repair nearly every skin disorder where even a dermatological treatment didn’t help….but this is my experience and might be different with other skin types.
Do you like this new version Rena?
Yes I really do and I use the primer “Instant smooth perfecting touch” too. It makes a big difference when you use a make up, nearly a miracle.
I really really like your blog and highly encourage you to come by mine
! Seriously, maybe we can follow each other?
xx
Love this serum and also I use Algenist!!
I take your suggestions seriously dear Vicki. Not only have you led me to the perfect red lipstick, the most divine candles, fabulous books, I just picked up “the marseille caper” which I cannot wait to get into, but just when I wanted to mix up my serum, hello Vicki! It constantly amazes me that the Internet can unite like minded kindred spirits. Thank for sharing your always inspiring finds!
Cheers, Kathy
swooning over that salle de bain! and turning 45 this month (ahem)…i’m thinking it’s time for a serum. i used to be able to get away with just my daily moisturizer..but i’m noticing my skin needs some help lately. do you wear a night cream as well as the serum? merci vicky!
Depending on my hydration… I do sometimes… but this Clarins Double Serum also feels good on it’s own…
I love your beauty finds. I swear by the Laura Mercier hydrating primer that you suggested. in the evening, i massage in a few drops of Decleor oil (jasmine) on my face, feels wonderful, in the morning, I use Viverskin Kine-C from Canada. After a few months, I feel the difference.
I also like serums!! Thanks for the recommendations!
love this mirror and also your blog! It’s so nice!!! I follow you!
Pass to my blog and if it likes you follow me too, I will be so glad
Kisses
so glad I popped over to read…I have a lot of alchemy to indulge in
Sounds like a trip to Sephora might be in my cards; I miss being in a city where it’s easier to keep up on the latest beauty finds. Thanks for the tip!
I adore your beauty finds. I too have extremely dry skin in the winter and recently started an entirely new regimen using Eve Lom skin care. Have you ever used it? For the first time in my life I am willing to go out during the day without make up with the exception of blush and lipstick.
Yes I do like it… I have only tried a few products so far…
