Friday… It’s The Weekend

June 23, 2013

This week I have been very chatty.

I get carried away… next week I shall calm down…

Resume a more relaxed pace.

In the meantime… after all that minimalist talk… I have become even more infatuated with accessories…

Necklaces in particular… you know how I love them.

They really take up very little space (that’s a big plus) and they pack a big punch (that’s a bigger plus)…

Is there a necklace that you need to add to that capsule wardrobe?…  J .Crew is offering 25 off… . Code NEWSTYLE

J. Crew - Vicki Archer

Beaded Rose Necklace   Tortoise Flower Necklace

J.Crew - Vicki Archer

Tortoise and Turquoise Necklace   Seaside Fringe Necklace

The Net-A-Porter Sale is still raging… up to 70 off… and plenty to choose from in the ‘must haves‘…

The jewellery is my pick… in the ‘game changers

Net A Porter

And last but not quite as pretty…

Do you wear an UP Band by Jawbone… to measure your every step?

I am waiting for mine and I am hoping it will encourage me to move those extra paces…

Have a fabulous few days…  Thank you for the smiles and the pleasure of your company this week… See you Monday… xv

Gorgeous, Vicki…I LOVE the seaside fringe ;-)
    Have a wonderful weekend.

  • Love the seaside fringe necklace – beautiful!

Gorgeous necklaces. Wish I could wear them. I have a very short chest expanse so I tend not to wear a lot of big necklaces. A strand of pearls or a medium gold chain are my go-to’s.

I’ve worn a pedometer for several years – helps me keep track of how much I move in a day. Unfortunately, it doesn’t measure the energy expended from gardening.

  • I like it when you are chatty. :)

    Good afternoon Vicki!

Well I think you are so right about accessories. In fact, your post here has solved a dilemma for me. I am going out of state tomorrow for a wedding, but don’t want to pack too many clothes. I think you idea of a man-sized shirt with my jeans and a chunky necklace will cover both the bachelorette party AND the wedding. For the wedding, I have a simple boat neck dress but will wear the necklace. DONE! Problem solved. And that Oscar DLR hammered rose necklace is FANTASTICALLY PRICED!

    Enjoy a frivolous weekend, Anita

Hi Vicki I love J Crew’s pearl necklace because I have olive skin I tend to go for the pearls. I also have always loved delicate jewellery because I’m only 4’10” big bling is lost on me. But what you have featured …just beautiful. Thank you for sharing hope you have a wonderful weekend.

I love the porcelain beaded rose necklace. It’s so pretty and feminine. It makes me think of springtime which is really nice because it is so cold here now in Melbourne. I’m sure you are enjoying the sun by now, Vicki!

Heard your radio interview and enjoyed it. I’d love if you would post more about the process of redoing Petit Bijou. Have a lovely weekend

  • There’s nothing like a great necklace. Just today I came across this quote by Sonia Henie – “Jewelry takes people’s mind off your wrinkles.” I’m not saying you have wrinkles to speak off, just wanted to share this quote that made me think more positively about the future. Hope you have a great weekend.

  • Loving the chunky necklaces…always room for some more :)
Have a beautiful weekend Vicki xoxo

  • Chatty is good Vicki…we love it when you are chatty! I know for certain that any of the above necklaces would look fab on you. I adore all chuncky necklaces but find as the years pass I can deal less and less with the weight of them. I handle them like purses…I pick them up to imagine wearing and carrying. If they pass the weight test, I do not hesitate for they are far and few between. Silk covered beads and tassles with an Asian theme are my necklaces of choice these days. I just need to move back to London so I can wear them..we are very casual in Saigon.

As for the UP Band by Jawbone… a new revelation to me, thanks to you. Be sure to let us know how it goes. I love a good gadget, especially if it helps with the waist line. :)

Best wishes for a wonderful weekend V.. xx

I am obsessed with accessories too. Such an inexpensive way to pack a big punch. Loving the blue necklace and yes, I’m picturing it with something white and flowy! xo

  • Rachel says:

I’ve just been lucky enough to come across your blog and I love your style. This post is brilliant. :)

I’m a little woman with an ample rack… and I’m not talking for shoes. That makes necklaces a bit of a challenge, but… one striking necklace with all black and few (if any) other accessories can be quite the statement.

Or, the classic… an elegant string of pearls.

(I like it when you’re chatty, too.)

  • Love a great statement necklace and have a drawer full. That Oscar necklace is a beauty. They can instantly take even the most boring outfit and elevate it so easily….love them.
