    Dear Vicki,

I am fortunate to be in London most weeks at the moment, and it is indeed looking truly fabulous! All great suggestions of yours…….when it comes to food, may I also add ‘Borough Market’ to your list? We are off to the St. Andrews University carols at Westminster Abbey next week, which should put us all in a festive spirit. Lovely inspiration from you as always….

    Have a lovely weekend,

    Sophia

    • Vicki says:

Thank Sophia… I think I will go to Borough market tomorrow … and Columbia Rd on Sunday… I love that one too… :)
Even though I will be in France for Christmas, I love seeing all the pine trees, wreathes and flowers… xv

I won’t be going to London, but last night we watched an old movie version of Scrooge, that took me to a London of my dreams, of the tradition. Oh how fabulous it would be to walk down the streets that famous writers and artists walked down! Your choices here are lovely Vicki, and thanks again for the beautiful post card! Anita

Lots of lovely things to do Vicki …. I think that my sister did most of them last week !!!!
We are taking our grandson to Kew Gardens for the Illuminated Trail next weekend and we are going to the Harold Pinter theatre tonight. We saw some of the lights in London when we went to see Jeeves and Wooster last week…… it looks so pretty and, London is BUZZING at the moment, isn’t it ?
Thanks for all of the great suggestions. XXXX

  11. Leslie in Portland, Oregon says:

Wonderful suggestions, Vicki. I was fortunate enough to spend time in London during Advent for eight straight years, and it was glorious. I especially enjoyed Christmas concerts several venerable London churches with excellent choirs. One caution to tourists, though: if you are travelling alone and do not know anyone in London, do not spend Christmas Day itself (or Boxing Day) there. It is a very lonely place in public, as everything (except your hotel) is closed and everyone is at home. Caveat: the last sentence was true throughout the 1970′s. Maybe things have changed!

  12. This is exactly why I love reading the blogs–they give me hope.
