French Essence Giveaway… Vintage Prints For You

Watercolour Engravings- Vicki Archer

I have found some small and delicate vintage prints whilst browsing through Covent Garden in London… and they are for you.

They would look adorable framed… on a desk, the dressing table or the bedside table…

Some are pastel coloured… very Jane Austen…  as pictured above and others are black and white… with more of an architectural feel.

~ ~ ~

There are eighteen different scenes… some French, some English… and all so charming… Something I know you would love…

Besides they give me a reason to write to you…

I’m going to send them to eighteen readers with a handwritten card… because what is more fun than receiving a little parcel in the mail…

For me, nothing.

~ ~ ~

All you need to do is comment on the blog or email me and be a subscriber to French Essence… so I know you are there.

If you would like to Facebook, Tweet or Instagram the giveaway… then that’s all the more chances for you…

I will announce the winners next Monday, the 17th March…

The pen is at hand and the postman will be knocking on your door very soon… xv

beautiful little prints! They remind me of some prints my mom used to have hanging in our house when I was growing up? They were from some French fashion publication called something like La Mode. I have searched high and low for them, but they must have been away long ago!

I think the prints are charming!
But the hand written note sounds even better….maybe I would frame that too or maybe ( like many of my favorite memories) the note would be placed in My French Life or French Essence marking one of the beautiful photographs.
thank you

Oh Vicki, I can’t imagine anything more exciting than actually receiving a lovely French print from Covent Garden of all historic English market places, and accompanied by your handwritten card! The print would be perfect framed and hanging in my ‘French-style boudoir’, and your card would be tucked into one your lovely books – I have French Essence and A French Life – so I would always know where it is!

So enjoy your blog always – thanks for the chance to be a winner.

What a lovely idea for a giveaway. (Like Sally, I think the handwritten note is the best part.)

My unofficial French mother-in-law has several prints if this sort that I helped her hang a few weeks back. We were marveling at the hand work involved in these clothes, not to mention the weight of wearing them! I must say, when I consider the practical aspects, I’m happy fir my pencil skirts and tops with a nice little heel…

Please feel free to correct the spelling errors above from using the iPhone that ‘autocorrects’ (badly) where I don’t want and leaves tiny-key-typos where it SHOULD correct!

Reply
Vicki

Love the typos… it’s the only time I don’t feel so lonely… I make plenty… with the iPhone and without!
WHat is it with “for”… mine corrects to “fur” all the time… SO annoying… and so predictable… ;)

Admiring your charming prints and imagining what life was like at that time. I’ve always felt like I would love to dress in that manner. To look and feel like such a “lady” everyday.
I too enjoy writing. I write in my journal each night before going off to sleep. I love to hold my pen softly and let my writing glide across the page. I would love to receive a lovely print and I would be absolutely thrilled to receive a hand written letter from you. I’m wondering if your handwriting is as I imagine it to be.

Hello Vicki,
You’re right. Those sweet little pictures are for the bedroom. Scenes of long ago but still loved by lovers of vintage. Vicki, I notice on Instagram this morning all the beautiful tulips at that flower stall. What’s even more lovely is that each variety is named. Love that detail. Have a wonderful week.

Love reading your posts and drooling over your Instagram pics. I lived for many years as an ex-pat in Austria, traveling to France every chance I got. Now back in SoCal, I’m a bit obsessed with my beloved Paris. If I win one of these beauties, I’ll hang it in my daughter’s nursery… Which is Parisian-themed, of course. Thank you for this great giveaway! Xxxx

Vicki,

Such a lovely giveaway…I would love this for the bedroom. It’s funny because I was just looking at vintage magazine cover artwork from the 20’s and 30’s that I thought would be such a refresh for my bedroom and then I see your post! Something must be in the air! Just as a side note…I was a flurry of handwritten notes this weekend (I have a 90-year-old pen pal, she writes the most charming letters, must be the time she grew up in)…anyway, you inspired me to send off one to her and another dear friend from my college days…I took my time and so enjoyed the process. A note from you would be wonderful!

What a gorgeous giveaway Vicki! Such charming prints, and the handwritten note makes it all the more special. I must say that I do love a handwritten note, and do like to send them when thanking…..something I have tried to install in my children, now grown up, but which I am pleased to say they now do automatically when thanking for gifts. A special thing that takes no time at all, but means so much!

I am in the King’s Road today, so thought I would find the gorgeous looking flower stall you had on your Instagram!

Have a lovely week,

I “float” at my job – I cover secretary desks when they’re out, so I change the background on multiple computers in the firm and it’s always a wonderful surprise to cover for them again to see which photo I last used at that computer. I’ve saved some as favorites so I can use them over and over again. I can’t explain the extreme pleasure and appreciation I get from your posts. Oh, Vicki, those vintage prints are absolutely charming……..so delicate in their beauty! I love the muted colors. It is a joy to follow your blog, and this offer of a lovely little print is just another example of the graciousness you show with all your daily “sharings.” Count me in among the hopeful. And a handwritten note from you would be the proverbial icing on the cake! I, too, cherish the “written” word, as well as the time, sentiment, and thought put into those words by the sender. Nothing more dear than holding in your hand a missive sent from the hand of someone who cared to brighten your day. I have boxes and boxes of them, the handwriting so distinctive to many I love, and have loved, in my life.
Have a nice day. Thank you, again, for the beauty and helpful thoughts you share all the time……even if it is done “electronically” most of the time.:)
