I wonder what he thinks today as “those” sneakers take over and become the number one fashion statement on women the world over.

Around ’63 or 64, the first Adidas tennis shoe was produced and Stan Smith allowed Adidas to endorse the sneaker with his name in exchange for a royalty. In 1967, the green padding was added to the back. In ’71 the sneaker was named the adidas stan smith and the rest is history.

I am happy with this “comfortable” craze and admit to wearing mine pretty much every day. There are many designer brands offering similar styles at 3x the price; yes they can be super chic and have an extra detail or two.

If you want to rock the sneaker look I don’t see any reason to look further than the Adidas styles. They are comfortable, practical and look great with just about everything.

I did have a moment of indecision yesterday when I wore my white pair with a mid length dress. Thoughts of Nurse Jackie came to mind but my girls assured me they looked perfect; everyone has a wobble now and then.

I quickly recovered as they are back on my feet; the all white superstars are on the go today.

Thank you Stan Smith, I hope the trend continues because these make life pretty easy day to day. xv
