Don’t Let These 3 Escape: Velvet Essentials

Don't Let These 3 Escape: The Velvet Essentials on vickiarcher.com

Can you resist velvet?

It’s an essential in the wardrobe. Velvet can be as glamorous as it comes or as simple as you like. I love it in any shape or form and there is something totally luxurious about the feel and look of such a rich fabric. It’s the same as a velvet decorating fabric; how marvellous a sofa or a pair of curtains can be?

There are three pieces I have found from Eileen Fisher, which I think would work wonderfully in our autumn/winter wardrobes.  There are two versions of a pant, a shift dress and two brilliant jackets. Eileen Fisher is a brand I look to for the elegant and unfussy styles and I usually find something to compliment, especially my travel wardrobe.

They do fabulous velvet and I will admit to liking them more than many others I have seen this season. The beauty of these is we can really dress them up or wear them with the casual.

I wanted to show you. Maybe it could be a velvet weekend coming up? xv

My mom had a coat just like the one pictured. So beautiful. Unfortunately, my waist no longer nips as it once did, so I can’t wear it.
I just saw wedding photos in which all the men wore velvet jackets. Gorgeous.

I have a couple of wonderful velvet tops/shirts that I like to wear during the day with jeans .. or with something black on a Night Out :)
I have always loved velvet .. That coat is Something Else :)

I LOVE IT! I have a few skirts and jackets that I’ve had for at least 15 years and I cannot get rid of them. In the winter, yes, even during our brutal midwest winters, velvet comes to my rescue. I can be elegant and warm all at the same time. I can’t go a winter without it!
