7 Foods to Re-Boost And Re-Energise

7 Foods to Re-Boost And Re-Energise

7 Foods To re-boost and re-energise our systems.

How do we re-boost and re-energise?

I wish I felt energised and re-energised all the time but sometimes, despite best intentions, I feel sluggish.

I know we should re-boost the immune system before we need and stock up on all the necessary goodness to ward off the nasties, it makes great sense, but it is easy to forget.

I asked Lily for some reminders, an easy accessible list of ingredients to make us feel perky and sparky.

Her Point Of View

Her Point Of View

I thought it would be fun, over the summer, to get to know each other better. We connect here on a daily basis and truthfully I am curious about you all. I feel as if we are kindred spirits, sharing our love of France, of fashion and beauty and discussing the subjects to do with becoming “better”, not “younger”.

I will be asking one of my regular readers for her point of view each week. I thought it only fair if I started by answering my questions. Here goes,

10 Movies Not To Miss On Netflix

10 Movies Not To Miss On Netflix

Here are a further 10 movies not to miss on Netflix.

Movies come and go and they are easy to miss, especially with the accessibility for at home viewing.

This list is a mix of favourites; some romance, a lot of drama, a little bit of humour and a tinge of sadness.

You may have seen some or all of them and many of them I have watched several times.

Not all are blockbusters but that is their charm.

What To Wear: Reps, Resistance And Cardio

What To Wear: Reps, Resistance And Cardio

What to wear for the reps, the resistance and the cardio?

I have been trying to do my best with the gym, to go regularly and make it a part of my daily life; I know it’s beneficial and I need to be doing as much regular exercise as possible but the truth is working out is my least favourite activity.

Let me hike or swim or even scare myself rigid on a pair of skis, anything but the workout.

7 Natural Ways To Reduce Water Retention

7 Natural Ways To Reduce Water Retention

How to reduce water retention?

This question was front of mind to ask Lily when I saw her last week.

I have been flying quite a bit recently and have found the problem of water retention, especially after longer flights, to be a problem. Apart from the way an excess of fluid looks it makes me feel ghastly and is very uncomfortable.

I know for some water retention is never an issue but for me it has been an irritating companion for as long as I remember. I asked Lily for some natural and easy ways to help the problem. I find if a remedy is not something I can take or do easily, it doesn’t last long.

Here are her suggestions and there are at least three I can improve on.

How To Banish “Those” Cravings

How To Banish “Those” Cravings

How to banish “those” cravings?

I don’t really wish to admit to naughty cravings but I don’t think it will come as much surprise to most women.

Lily recently had an article published recently in London’s online Daily Mail and I found her tips and tricks hugely helpful, especially the “almond” one.

What I like most about Lily’s advice is it is not only practical but also easy to follow.

Here is what she says about “those” cravings,

Solve The Supplement Game

Solve The Supplement Game

Let’s Solve the supplement game.

My question to Lily this week was about the use of supplements in our diet.

I wanted to know the top three to take and the brands she recommended.

I find it a complicated question.

She has broken it down for us and this is what she suggests,

The Best French Television Series

The Best French Television Series

My vote for the best French television series would not include Versailles.

I was excited to watch Versailles but after three episodes I cannot say I’m hooked and far from it. The visuals are intriguing but that is where it stops for me. Perhaps it will warm up.

I will show my hand at the start here, I am a big fan of the French television series. I enjoy them for a variety of reasons not least because it is an excellent way to practise the language. Looking at my lists I must have a penchant for the police drama and the political intrigue.

6 Ways To Exercise When There Is No Time

6 Ways To Exercise When There Is No Time

6 ways to exercise when there is “no” time?

I would say the “no time” excuse is the big fib I tell myself too often. I know there is time but it is just so easy to prioritise everything else. Know what I mean? “No time” often means poor planning as well as a dose of reluctance.

We do know small bursts of exercise can boost mood, increase confidence, relieve stress, improve health, and keeps us trim.

Lily thought of 6 ways to exercise when there is “no time” to exercise.

My score 3/6. How did you do?

The Queen, Her Majesty Elizabeth II: Another Beautiful Face

The Queen, Her Majesty Elizabeth II: Another Beautiful Face

The Queen of England, her Majesty Elizabeth II has been celebrating her birthday all weekend and the country too.

London has been in full patriotic swing, despite the intermittent storms.

I declare my hand up front; I am a huge fan of the Queen and always have been.

The Queen turned 90 in April and if there is ever an inspiration for older women it is she.
