The Best Kept Beauty Secrets #16

The Best Kept Beauty Secrets #16

Beauty comes in many different packages.

Being beautiful is a life long work and of course I am not meaning the physical attributes here.

Yes, most of us want to be more beautiful in whatever way is acceptable and desirous to us but deep down we know it is a lot more complicated than diet, exercise, needles, scalpels and potions.

Internal beauty requires dedication.

The kind of beauty that makes us wake up each day and feel well within, beauty that makes us engage positively with others, be generous and for the most part enrich the lives of those we love and those around us.

This is not a one, two three easy beauty secret to share; we can’t take it or buy it.

Concealer: How To Wear It 3 Ways

Concealer: How To Wear It 3 Ways

There is a trick with concealer and I have figured it out.

It can be used 3 ways and can make quite the difference.

I forgot my favourite bb cream and foundation on a trip recently and didn’t have time or the inclination to re-buy my favourites.

Somewhere in my distant memory a vague spark flickered and I remembered, if used properly, a good concealer can double or triple not only as a great cover up but also for a base and contouring.

Concealer is one of those products I use mostly under tired eyes and not for much else.

Inspired By #62: Linda Rodin

“I think one does feel more liberated and independent when one gets older.

More honest and open with yourself and others. But you still have insecurities—they’re different, but they don’t totally go away. But you reach a point and say ‘That’s OK.’ In the end, nobody’s perfect, and we’re all doing the best we can.” – Linda Rodin, Into The Gloss

Five Tricks: Five Years Younger

Five Tricks: Five Years Younger

ARE THERE FIVE EASY TRICKS TO LOOKING FIVE YEARS YOUNGER?

I am not sure if these ideas really make me look any younger but they sure do make me feel a lot better.

There are certain “grooming” (for want of better word) jobs that I need to have done regularly otherwise I don’t feel well with the world.

Simple beauty, hair and make-up rituals that make all the difference to how I look and present myself.

They are not complicated or revolutionary but they inspire confidence.

When I am behind on these, I am well and truly behind.

Black Friday… It’s Showtime

Black Friday and it’s Showtime.

The biggest sales of the year have started in the U.S and they are incredible. Discounts on current stock all weekend… now is the time, if ever, to re-think the winter wardrobe.

This year I am editing the best buys for you, all weekend. Black Friday through Cyber Monday.

Fashion gets confusing enough, especially when it is reduced in price and temptation is running at an all time high.

“Come Quickly I am Tasting The Stars”… Dom Perignon

If there is one universal cocktail or drink that spells Christmas for me… it must be Champagne… or sparkling wine… depending on the provenance… I have always associated Christmas with champagne… it’s like the turkey with the stuffing or the plum pudding and the brandy… One can’t live without the other… they go hand

Fashion… Hit and Miss

Fashion… Hit and Miss

This month’s collaboration is about the catwalk hits and misses of the season… To be precise… something I love and something I don’t. What’s not to love about this fashion for oversized coats… elegant, flattering and cosy to wrap up in… especially this delicious blush pink from Céline… I mighty style it differently… no offence Phoebe

Thoughts of Lavender

Thoughts of Lavender

I didn’t think I could take another photograph of lavender… I thought lavender and I had danced our last dance, said our fond farewells. I have spent many years admiring lavender, crushing the tiny flowers in my palms in order to inhale her sweet smell… I have cut bouquets, arranged them and dried them. I

We moved… We made it… It’s our London home away from home… The paintings aren’t hung… but there are books about… Flowers in the vase… and scented candles burning… Many boxes remain unpacked… Shoes are on the floor… vintage hats are on the desk… (thank you lovely, Jeanne) The clocks aren’t ticking… the mirrors are standing
