When she closed for Bottega Veneta’s show last week in Milan, dressed so elegantly, with a nod to the 1980 movie American Gigilo, I thought fashion doeslook and listen. She is a woman, a beautiful mature woman with impeccable style.
Fashion is no longer restricted to the 20 something beauty; fashion is for every age to interpret in any way we choose. About time.
All that glitters is especially gold and silver this year.
Which had me thinking about metallic and my feelings towards the bright and shiny.
I remember back when gold and silver accents, let alone full metal fabrics, were considered not so chic; now in fashion, anything goes. As seasons come and go tastes change although I do believe there aren’t many surprises in fashion.
If you love fashion long enough you see most trends re-appear.
It would seem to me they don’t. I am often having discussions with friends who tell me they find it “hard” work, too much to navigate and they end up with a basket of items they don’t want. Online shopping is a skill, like good sales shopping. It is easy to master but equally a daunting process if it’s not an adopted habit.
