The Costume Institute’s Spring 2016 exhibition, presented in the museum’s Robert Lehman Wing, explores how fashion designers are reconciling the handmade and the machine-made in the creation of haute couture and avant-garde ready-to-wear.

Many thanks. Fascinating and beautiful short doco on this exhibition. Would love to have been able to see it in person.
Have been lucky enough to see some of the Paris special exhibitions at the Galliera, the Musee des Arts Decoratifs and the Hotel de Ville, also at the Petit Palais (YSL retrospective) and the Grand Palais on couture, some featuring the different metiers of the petits mains. There have also been some wonderful French documentaries on the petits mains. French film festivals in Oz sometimes include some of these. Best wishes, Pamela
