Let’s Talk About The Tee Shirt

Lets Talk About The Tee on vickiarcher.com

Tee shirts that turn into dresses are where I am headed today.

The tee shirt dress is my hot weather version of the sweater dress, a dress I wore often during the winter. I thought I might substitute a new version with the tee shirt right about now.

Tee’s that say all or nothing are in front of house right now but tees that stretch into dresses are even harder to find. Once you find one you like my instinct is to wear and wear and wear it.

Here is the problem.

To find the right tee shirt dress is difficult.

For me, they are either too narrow or too baggy. They are often too short or the wrong shape. I like my tee shirt dress to be longer and leaner where the curves can show but not be swamped. A simple silhouette means our favourite fleet jacket, denim number or leather biker can sit on the top without hesitation. Whether you like a tee shirt dress to have sleeves or not is purely personal; I like a small or 3/4 sleeve.

The tee shirt dress is a reasonably inexpensive way to make a great statement, especially with a smart jacket and a pair of sneakers, mules or ankle boots even.  I’m running with the sneakers while they are still such a popular choice and wearing mules when I want to be a little dressier.

I found one super cute dress that’s headed my way, maybe two. I’ll let you decide ;) xv

I like the Simon Miller dress — except for the fact that it would be too long for me and it doesn’t come in petites. Oh, well. I prefer my hems to hover around my knees. Any longer, and it looks like I’m playing dress-up in mommy’s dress, Any shorter, and the world is your gynecologist.

ha ha… I do love your turn of phrase, Mimi.. ;)
I prefer mid calf for some reason…always feel taller! Are’t we women funny? :)

Mimi, you have such a way with words! Agreed. I prefer mine the way Vicki does, mid calf, it’s the perfect “run-around-town” length, and makes it easier to exit from my husband’s little red sports car without what Mimi said.

I love the comfort of tee shirts and tee shirt dress. I’m all about comfort while still trying to be feminine and look good. At my age (65) and with very short hair these dress are perfect for that. I will say it’s hard sometimes to find the right fit but when you do….it’s heaven. My fav is the James Perse for $195.00…although I never pay that much!!!
