Jodie Foster: A White Christmas

Jodie Foster: A White Christmas on vickiarcher.com

What to wear for a white Christmas?

And I’m not thinking about snow.

Jodie Foster worked it out well ahead of time when she appeared in this month’s Harper’s Bazaar.

She looks so fabulous and the white jacket is stunning in its simplicity.

Why have I forgotten the brilliance of the white jacket? Not any longer, the white tuxedo style or classic blazer is very much front of mind for the holidays.

How to style it?

I will wear mine with black pants and most likely a simple black tee underneath or even a silk blouse. I do like the look of white or off-white worn underneath as well – so I will be trying on both options. This one on sale is perfect worn buttoned up or with a light shell if you prefer.

Jeans would work too, but I’m feeling like a dress-up is in order this Christmas season so I will wear a pair of slim black pants for sure. Shoes – as I am travelling and must stick to my 3 shoe-rule, will be block heeled boots for comfort or a pair of mules, if we are staying inside.

For a more feminine look – try the jacket with a tulle skirt or a fuller style and simple black tee. Throw the white blazer over the top, a pair of flats and one, two, three out the door.

Sometimes, the simplest of pieces make the greatest impact.

Thank you for the reminder Jodie Foster. xv

WOW. I haven’t seen her in anything for years, but what a stunning, mature woman she has become. I believe she and I are the same age and is she ever beautiful. Sixty (If I’m correct about her age) is a platinum age to reach with such style, and yes, I love this white.

I agree – she looks wonderful- “platinum age”
You are clever, Anita – might have to make a new hashtag of that one :) :)

I think that a classic style or classic “with a twist,” always looks elegant with an air of “je ne sais quoi!

You are always on point Vicki and today’s blog is no exception! My only wish: to order the blazer as an early Christmas present from me to me :-)
