Faux fur is fantastic and a whole lot of fun.
I have been impatient to talk faux fur but somehow I hadn’t found the right faux – if you see what I mean.
The idea with faux fur is to make merry and not take it too seriously. Some days are for forgetting the most flattering, the ever slimming, the totally classic and the ever faithful elegant. I’m not saying we should forfeit our style and throw caution to the wind but I do feel a whimsical faux is an excellent addition to the wardrobe. They are cosy, warm and never mind the wind and the rain and they brush up pretty well after a big day out. What’s not to love?
Faux fur works well for the weekends, with the jeans and sweaters.
Mostly I like it worn with our best. It’s the mixing of the fanciful with the serious that appeals to me. A dazzling topcoat can add the pick-me-up element to an outfit without feeling like an overwhelming choice. Wear it to and fro, around and about; it’s not like the white jacket or velvet tuxedo, those we want to wear all evening long.
The faux fur is a statement oftentimes; It doesn’t have to be but if you are going all out, then it usually is. The grey, black and cream faux furs are far more practical and wearable, but the colourful coats or the animal prints look seriously wonderful worn over an all-black outfit.
It’s the holidays and I feel like dressing up, inside and out.
Did I mention before I do have a serious love affair with a coat? One of each please. xv
