Weekend Wardrobe: Take A Walk On The Wild Side

Will you walk on the wild side This Weekend?
I might not be quite as daring as Naomi Campbell in a bustier and stockings (nor the cig) and I won’t ever wear mix and match leopard but I continue to add leopard pieces to my wardrobe on a regular basis. Leopard print is a print that’s not a print and it is a perfect neutral, like black or navy.

I’ve found the best skirt for the weekend wardrobe.  Is it a cheetah or leopard print? I am not 100% sure. Either way, it is a fab print and great shape and I have worn it with a white tee, black tee and even a very loose silk blouse tucked in.  Tuck the blouse in tighter at the waist in front and pull up a little at the sides and back.

This is one of the best “slimming” tricks of all. Tall and reed-like figures can let it all puff or all hang out; as a shorty, I am always after the tips and tricks.

Why I love this particular one?

The shape of the skirt is slimming and the length is just below the knee, which I find the most flattering. It’s a workhorse; I can wear this skirt with a jacket for meetings but mostly I like it on the weekend dressed down with my sneakers or slides. The shape is not so full it can’t take a blouson style sweater/sweatshirt over the top – one of the classic round neck shapes with extra width works well.

Don’t know what to wear? Have nothing to wear? This fabulous find is your answer. xv

I enjoy a hint of wild too! Maybe a jacket, maybe a bag. I have a darling pair of leopard print gloves that go so well with a black trench that I wear. FUN!

A spot of leopard? Ohhh, yeah. I have leopard smoking slippers lined in a deep red leather, a great little trench from the Banana Republic Mad Men series and a one button cashmere cardigan. These pieces should last for what my husband and I euphemistically call “the duration.”
