Back In The Pink

Pink is still reigning supreme

There’s something so overtly feminine about pink.

It’s nostalgic, girly and just as wearable as it was in our childhood years.

Winter is almost done and with Spring/Summer collections on the reveal, an infusion of colour doesn’t seem so far away.

Pink makes the transition from heavier layers to lighter pieces a little easier and a lot more fun by adding just the right amount of colour.

It’s not one particular hue of pink we’re loving, it’s all of them; from bubblegum to pastel, to blush tones, every shade is impeccably lovely.

Has pink always been in your wardrobe?

Maybe its yet to be introduced but it goes so well with many other colours; blue, black, greys, white and if we’re feeling brave it goes swimmingly with red.

It’s not just pink clothing we’re crushing on, it’s the accessories too.

Pink bags add the pop of colour an outfit may be needing without making too much of an investment.

If there are any uncertainties for complexions, there is a shade for everyone – it’s just about finding the right shade for us. Blush pink will flatter most.

Play with fabrics and materials. Pink silk is sumptuous, whereas tweed is quintessential, both easy to wear.

Need Some Inspiration?

Pair a pink sweater with blue jeans and sneakers for a weekend look.

What about pink sneakers? Style them with a monochrome outfit for a flash of fun.

Add a pink bag like this one to an evening look to add interest.

Try a pink dress with neutral accessories for a Spring-ready ensemble.

Spring is on its way and we’re tickled pink again.

I love the blush shades but can’t wear them. But I can see doing shoes or a bag. However, I have always liked a deep shade of pink which unexpectedly looks quite good with my auburn hair and my skin tone. When I wear a bright hot pink I always get a lot of compliments. I do have a soft pink guest bedroom though and it is also decorated with greys and some black.

Please find us a nail polish the color of those balloons. I love blush pink but rarely on the nails – need for upcoming granddaughter’s birthday party. Silly but whatever tickles the fancy, right?

I love pink just as much as you do, Vicki. All shades. I have a couple of pink dresses and a hot pink winter coat, but I tend to use it more as an accessory color. In my collection are blush leather ballet flats, hot pink suede kitten heels, a cashmere sweater, a clutch. I am coveting a pair of pink Converse sneakers for spring and summer. A variety of pink lipsticks is also a must for me. A whisper of pink blush looks pretty on virtually every woman.

Oh Vicki, just last night I had a “vision” – pink with YELLOW! Because of my olive skin, I never felt yellow as my color to wear. However…I think that if I incorporate just a tad of it with more pink, I may be able to get away with it. It’s time to THINK PINK! (Love that photo)
