Eye Spy: The Three Tops

Eye-Spy-The-Three-Tops-Vicki-Archer

There are three standouts.

This month, I started wearing dresses again, I splashed out with the red lipstick and I’m deep into Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine.

It is an unusual combination to commit to memory at the end of the month; small changes but big wins.

The dresses are in because I am happy to feel the freedom of fabric and the feminine float.  Red lipstick for me is a game-changer and it needs every opportunity to get out and about.

And reading; reading is a sheer pleasure. Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine is a great read and as I haven’t quite finished – I am 2/3 of the way through – I have the last pages to look forward to. The urge to read is one of the best and turning the pages as we become more and more engrossed is my idea of heaven.

The months fly by, with so much more to commit to memory than three, but isolating the small wins makes me smile.

Dresses

Ganni makes a great dress and I found myself wearing this one, over and over. It’s a beauty but take a size down if you are tempted. I am considering this pinstriped number; I never met a pinstripe I didn’t like. Like my broderie anglaise, I could wear this everywhere. Works like a suit without the constraint.

Lips

You know I talk about this matte red lipstick from Giorgio Armani on a regular basis. It is still one of the best and it’s back at the front of my bathroom drawer this month when it’s not in my handbag.

Reads

“We compromised with some improbably named “kitten heels,” which, contrary to what one might think, had nothing to do with cats. They were heels which were easy to walk in, but which were, nonetheless “very feminine.” Gail Honeyman

Have you read this? I’m sure many of you have. If you want to escape, get lost in a different world then Eleanor Oliphant is your girl. And she wears kitten heels. Sometimes.

Eye Spy my three, what are yours? xv

Kitten Heels! Ohhhh yesss. My go to these days. As a fellow former model friend of me advised a few years ago, they are comfortable AND utterly feminine. The Manolo Carolyn kitten heel is pure perfection. Wish my slightly too big feet could fit into them!

Red lips I have to be in the mood for. I am in the mood more and more these days! I call it the “red badge of courage”.

I loved that book. Actually, a few times I laughed out loud. A few times moved close to tears. I wanted others to know that the audio version is wonderful. I had to do a long drive and decided I would give the audio book a try. I couldn’t stop listening to it! So another option if you are always on the run. This one works.

Hi Vicki
My fav dress at the moment is a black & white stone/pebble design cross ove wrap dress by Jane Lamerton.
My fav lippy is a cherry red, bought in London H&M a darker red though.
My fav book is The Woman from St Germaine by J.R.Lonie. I’m listening to it on audio cd. I can recommend this one for your next bookclub, 1941, bookshops, escapes, writers, adventures, near misses, France Paris and the boarder of Spain.
