One Way To Walk In Camel

One Way To Walk A Camel on vickiarcher.com

Camel is one of those difficult shades to come to grips with.

Some absolutely love all shades of the camel tree and others find it difficult. Camel can wash your colouring out and make the skin tone sallow. Hair has a lot to do with how the beige shades fit but more importantly so do the accessories.

If silver is your hair colour of choice then camel can be a welcome addition. As much as we love all pieces black and white, a camel infusion can be another fast track option. It’s just not quite so easy.

Camel can be challenging.

*Wear one piece at a time and that can mean any top, jacket or coat but only one.

*Black and white is the ideal pants companions.

*Camel looks brilliant with dark lips.

*Add extra cheek colour and a dash of bronzer to the make-up routine.

Gold jewellery or pearls – hoops in particular – are a game changer.

Don’t be afraid.

I have seen women wear camel with red and even bright yellow to look totally fabulous.

A simple camel V or round neck sweater with those white jeans I mentioned yesterday is another go-to I love. It’s not quite as familiar as the black and white blouse options but it is one I want to try more often.

For me, it needs a red or even a raspberry pink lip – a strong statement to brighten my skin tone and lose any feeling of drab.

The V is my favourite, worn slouchy with a pant with pockets, cropped above the ankle and my white sneakers. Oh and a stack of vintage gold bracelets. Tomorrow sorted. xv

Camel is not a color I have in my wardrobe, but this is a good reminder to make it a goal. I love seeing it on others and need to try it. It won’t be soon for me–though the spring weather has been all over the place here in the desert SW of the US, it is not jumper weather anymore. A week ago it was nearly 100 (F) and though today will be only 70, Friday it will be 95 again. . . However, this post reminds me that I have been flirting with the idea of knitting myself a jumper in camel for some time, and if I think about it again soon, I can work on it this summer and be ready for fall! (This is the yarn I am dreaming of using: https://www.purlsoho.com/cashmere-merino-bloom.html in “honey pink” is really close to camel, right?)

On my computer, it’s coming up quite a mauve pink .. very pretty but a different mix to the camel, Linda. Would be very pretty with white or grey. Actually grey and camel is also a lovely combination…

Yikes–it does look more mauve pink on a different monitor! My bad! Still pretty, but so different than what it looked like on my phone or laptop.

I love to knit. Thanks for the link to this yarn. Maybe you could share a link to the pattern too when you choose one. Ty

I especially like combining black with camel and my best look is a round neck. Thanks for the other combo suggestions for wearing camel.

White is fantastic and I also love the idea of the brights once summer gets under way..

Love a V neck with a fabulous necklace with a single drop sitting just above the V.
Bracelets and bangles are always a good choice with anything Vicki and just purchased another bangle whilst France – you can never have enough!!

I LOVE camel, especially with black or white. Shades of turquoise also work. Great idea to ramp up face color a bit.

beside black and white, camel is longly my fav colour. First I mixed it with white than
follows black now I dare to mix it with red, pink, azure, orange and more. I am really
not a multicolor fan but camel tolerates more.

In addition, I just bought MAC Fall in Love last week. It is a FANTASTIC pop of warm fuchsia that should work on every skin tone. Highly recommended. It reminds me of the original, dearly departed version of Revlon Persian Melon.
