The sweater dress is my all-time top of the pops.
I just love this because it is the answer to travel packing or when I am lacking inspiration or have over-indulged, which I did on the weekend.
An impromptu weekend away in Portugal meant a quick pack and a light pack.
I went light and came home heavy – not because my suitcase was laden but rather from all the Portuguese tarts I taste-tested during my stay. They are so delicious it wasn’t the time to be abstemious. I packed my poncho wrap for early mornings and evenings, a long-sleeved every day, everywhere dress and a sweater dress. By Sunday afternoon, the sweater dress was my number one companion.
There are many different shapes when it comes to a sweater style dress; this past weekend I chose the long-line sweater and paired it with sneakers. This dress was easy to pack and easier to wear. There are other tailored styles, I also love but those weren’t my go-to.
I have talked about sweater dresses for years and to me, if I keep wearing a style and am happy to continue the conversation it means I am on to something. It’s versatile, covers and yet has flair if worn with the right accessories. I travelled light so left the lace-up boots at home but it looks great with those; at night I swapped the sneakers for a pair of mules, added my wrap and was out the door.
The more I travel the less I want to carry and the smarter my choices are becoming.
This sweater dress aced it. xv
