The Loafers: Happy To Bring These Back

loafers-vicki-archer

They never went anywhere; I simply forgot About THEM.

It’s easy to have a “crush”. A piece of clothing or an accessory becomes the go-to, the one we fall into or back to whenever we put together a look. For me, it’s been all sneakers by days and mules by night; that’s why I am crazy keen to get into a pair of lace-up boots and some new loafers.

Loafers never go out – the toes may be pointier or the heels a little chunkier – they are forever a great look. If you are into the black pants and the turtleneck (what I am wearing today) then loafers are the easiest way to complete the look. Right about now I wear mine with naked ankles, I like the gap between the ankle pant and the shoes.

I have put together an edit of “loafers to love” from the best ever Gucci classic to more budget-friendly options. It’s about the shape of the toe and having the right height on the bridge of the foot. These loafers fit the bill in every way.

If today is one of those I-don’t-know-what-to-wear days (mine was) start here. xv

Just love a loafer too! I splashed out over five years ago on a hot pink Gucci pair- still adore them and they look great with denim or white trousers. I stuff them with tissue and store them in their Gucci bag. Would like a black pair now so thanks for the suggestions.
So glad wedding planning is fun, I just loved that special time with two daughters.

The Gucci’s are a splash but if you keep the soles and heels in good nick and keep the shoe trees in, they last forever.. certainly a “cost per wear” purchase!
PS love the hot pink, Deb :)

Vicki, I love loafers! Pale pink patent, gray and white, burgundy, black-just purchased new! Slim and pointy, chunky and platform. The list goes on…lol! Always has been a fall thing for me, as well as cool boots. Nice shout out, thanks Vicki always for your fashion statements!

Oh how I love a pair of loafers! I got my first pair of penny loafers years ago and how lovely they wear; I’d wear them with knee-high socks and shorts with a heavy sweater on an autumn day or with a skirt. I think I will go out and get another pair!

Yes.. and so cute with socks! I saw Sarah Jessica Parker in a pair of cute vintage socks and loafers… loved it :)

I adore my Gucci loafers, they are the best – so classic, comfortable & classy – an extravagance but so worth it! xx
