Fussing With Faux

Fussing with Faux on vickiarcher.com

Why am I fussing with faux?
I am fussing with faux because, I found the cutest tee with faux fur cuffs on the sleeves.

I couldn’t resist it and I have to say it looks particularly fab – with the jeans and a pair of mules or booties.

It’s playful and the extra detail dresses the tee up without weighing it down.

I am one who is nervous with too much embellishment or over-the-top additions. I am not saying I am not adventurous or scared to be brave but I am conscious of my height and silhouette.

That’s the thing about embellishments; they can turn nasty very quickly. Too much frou frou can be an easy trap for the fashion victim; not enough and we can look downright boring. I prefer to steer towards boring rather than feel like a victim. Nobody gets it right every day but too much can lead to unhappy fashion memories. I certainly have worn my share of clangers in the past (thinking 80’s and 90’s here).

Picture my face flushing as I mentally go through a checklist of my past fashion transgressions. I will calm myself with the thought that all journeys, even those in fashion, can deviate with wrong turnings.

I want fashion details to enhance the piece rather than to dictate the style. I don’t want to be hidden by something too fancy and it is always important to wear the clothes not the other way around.

This little bit of faux embellishment takes the classic tee to a whole other level.

This tee has a great neckline, is a good hemline and the length and weight of the sleeve are super flattering. I am tucking the front slightly into my jeans and letting the back of the tee hang long.

I will be wearing mine over the next few days with the woollen wrap. I’m happy, the weekend is sorted. xv
