A Few Good Dresses: About The Every Day

A Few Good Dresses: About The Every Day on vickiarcher.com

“Every day” means different things to different people.

When it comes to dresses, I love an “everyday” dress.

By every day, I mean a dress that can take me from whoa to go with very little fuss; a dress I not only like but also feel good about wearing. I’ve been wearing dresses a lot lately, especially over the last few days – the weather is in between and so is my sense of style. It doesn’t feel right to be too summery and nor do I feel comfortable in anything too heavy. This is the perfect time to circulate and re-circulate the dresses.

What makes a good “everyday” dress?

Obviously, it has to be a flattering fit.

Comfort is high on my list of priorities.

A dress I can accessorize with my bracelets or earrings is a dress to love.

Moving is essential; an everyday dress needs to be fluid so we can do what we do.

Cover up is part of my brief. I’ve never been a show all and everything dresser and even less so now. I’m not thinking Cossack tunic but I do like a  bit of a sleeve and my knees covered. Old-fashioned? Maybe.

I don’t care but the truth is none of it looks as good as I would like. Know what I mean?

A few good dresses, one for each day of the working week, is what I’m wearing. xv

Vicki, It’s hot and humid here in south Texas so a summer dress or skirt is what I’m looking for. An every day dress to wear to the grocery store. Anything other than the gym clothes I wear MWF. My favorite Ulla Johnson dress… a little more than an everyday dress, but I wore it that way… split on the sleeves. It was bound to happen because it wasn’t easy to get into. Am thinking about taking it to my tailor and seeing if she can remove the bodice and leave me with a skirt. It’s too pretty to abandon. xoxox, Brenda

What a great idea, Brenda… I’m all for altering what we love… it is so hard to replace favourites… :)

Thank you for the dress suggestions, Vicki. I like dresses too and find it hard to find cute ones. Do you have any idea who’s dress is in your cover picture? I like it the best. Thank you and have a good day.

It’s from Mango… so I linked one from there that was a bit like it… they have others but sizes were not great. If you click that link you can see once you get on their site. :)
