Audrey Hepburn; Portraits Of An icon
“This fascinating photographic exhibition illustrates the life of actress and fashion icon Audrey Hepburn (1929-1993). From her early years as a chorus girl in London’s West End through to her philanthropic work in later life, Portraits of an Icon will celebrate one of the worlds most photographed and recognisable stars.
A selection of more than seventy images defines Hepburn’s iconography, including classic and rarely seen prints from leading twentieth-century photographers such as Richard Avedon, Cecil Beaton, Terry O’Neill, Norman Parkinson and Irving Penn. Alongside these, an array of vintage magazine covers, film stills, and extraordinary archival material will complete her captivating story.”
This morning I had the great pleasure to see this exhibition.
At the National Portrait Gallery in London, Audrey Hepburn: Portraits of An Icon is showing until the 18th October.
The exhibition is small but the resulting feel good factor enormous.
What an extraordinary woman. Run, don’t walk, xv.

How I’d love to see this. She to me is still one of the most influential fashion, beauty and humanitarian models of American and European culture. This has to be one of my favorite photos of her! Happy day Vicki! Anita
Almost a good excuse to plan an impromptu trip to London! I bet it was fabulous……what a picture of grace and elegance…..she was a remarkable woman and this new crop of “Hollywood stars” (I am being generous) could certainly take her lead and learn a thing or two about class, understated elegance and humility from Audrey- truly one of a kind:)
Audrey was so very very real…her acting skills entranced audiences with an uniqueness that was hers alone. I watched her movies as a child and a teenager….those performances never failed to draw me into her very enchanting world on the screen and continue to do so whenever I revisit them. And as many would agree I am sure, she shared her gifts so freely and generously with her charities and humanitarian efforts throughout the world. She will always be my special muse and my inspiration!
