Bianca Jagger And Cecil Beaton

 Bianca Jagger; Cecil Beaton

Bianca Jagger and Cecil Beaton, I could not resist.

I believe this photograph was taken in 1978 and it proves to me that elegance and monochrome dressing never dates. Wouldn’t you agree?

Black and white worn together or apart is an easy base for a fashion wardrobe; adding flair is entirely up to the individual.

Today, to work with our key piece, I have found something fabulous and on sale.

A beautiful Diane Von Furstenberg silk shirt that can be worn like Bianca Jagger in the photograph above, with the tulle skirt or simply with a pair of trousers.

A new essential to freshen up the wardrobe… xv

WOW. You have taken me back to my teen years when I had already finished my high school days, but was very focused on this lady and her style! I agree; this look still lives on. And as long as we keep our sense of self-confidence, no matter what age we are or our choice of style, we remain classic. Lovely memories here, Vicki! Anita

I have had such a wonderful time re-visting Cecil Beaton and his extraordinary photographs… I promise to stop… but I could go on and on featuring them… I find them so inspiring in many ways, especially for fashion ideas.

His genius as a photographer is unsurpassed. Bianca’s beauty and style is so legendary and I love this photo, Vicki!

Such a splendid photo, the setting so beautiful, and so nice to actually see Beaton in it! I do love the blouse you feature trimmed in black with the gathered back, however I’m not a button up blouse/shirt person, and don’t look good in collars, so would have to pass on this one.

Vicki, it’s pants that have me confused this new season! What in the world works now – skinnies have become boring and are too warm for upcoming weather. The return of the wider, longer bell bottom is not practical (and reminds me too much of hippies in the ’60’s – and I don’t want to relive that era thank you very much!). I would like a classic cut straight trouser – and they are best high-waisted like Hepburn wore. Can never seem to find that style though – plus they need to be in a beautiful very fine lightweight wool to fit and hang perfectly. I love capri length for spring/summer so am ready to drag out last year’s versions and re-vamp with new tops and accessories! I’ll be in Europe next month so have to start pulling together a travel wardrobe soon.

Happy Spring – it’s finally here, but still chilly and wet today.
Hugs – Mary

I think I did have a momnet with flares but I can’t honestly say I liked them… I will always love Capri pants and Skinnies so that is what I will be wearing this summer. I admire wide-legged loose linen trousers but they aren’t flattering for many… so the narrower cut will be my choice.

Funny you mention pants Mary, I have been out trying certain styles on today so I can write about them later on.. I do love my research projects… ;) ;)

Segreto Secrets

A true classic and major blast from the past. Still love her style!

Love that old cottage and the pretty garden, so romantic. Was it Beaton’s or Bianca Jagger’s? The door surround/architrave looks to be a happy more recent addition to the original building. Beautiful photograph, wonder who took it given Beaton’s presence? Best wishes, Pamela

Hello Vicki – Love the photo of the beautiful Bianca and the inimitable Cecil Beaton. I remember reading his book during his obsession with Greta Garbo. The DVF offer is very tempting, hmmm.
Love your blogs, thank you,
Swan xx
