Birkenstocks aka comfortable footwear, aka best of the ugly.
I’m confused… actually I just don’t get it.
The fashion for Birkenstocks is an epidemic right at this moment.
Everybody is wearing them, everywhere with everything.
I have embraced the sneakers, the trainers… the comfort of the sport shoe, that isn’t for sport.
They are my fashion win/wins
The Birkenstock… I’m having trouble with these.
I will admit that when I see every fashion blogger and celebrity wearing a pair, I’m intrigued.
I ask myself… Can I do the Birkenstock, can I pull it off?
I think I can. My problem is I’m not sure I want to.
I know they are meant to be super comfortable.
Birkenstocks are designed for the natural form of the foot and allow freedom of movement and all round support.
Is this the case?
Don’t even get me started on the Birkenstocks ‘with socks look’… That is one fashion statement I will never understand.
I recently had dinner with a great friend who rocked the Birkenstock.
She wore the most beautiful jewelled/lace skirt…as delicate and divine as you can imagine… with a pair of pony skin Birks… ( can I call them that?)
Trust me, she looked amazing and totally cool… and she is one of us.

I’m off to Provence tomorrow… I cannot wait… so next week, let’s chat all about France… I miss her.
