Blue And White: The Comporta Vibe

Comporta on vickiarcher.com

The vibe is very much blue and white.

Plus strokes of vibrant colour influencing the landscape and style of Comporta.

Comporta and its neighbouring towns are relaxed, laid back and a mix of what was once farming life with sophisticated holidaymakers. It is an unusual blend – discovered but not in the way Italy or France are.

Today’s edit is inspired by what I am seeing and feeling in this heavenly getaway. Mostly white, with a touch of colour for good measure and a little bit of a bohemian feel.

This embroidered blouse I would wear every other day with these pants and my regular sneakers. Then I would sway away with this floating beauty when I wasn’t covering up in this black cutie. Dinners and I am going all out in a very special caftan style dress.

Let’s not say goodbye to the summer holidays just yet. This new EDIT will keep us kicking back for a few weeks longer. Phew. xv

Good morning Vicki!I was fun to see your stories in Instagram and I JUST LOVE what you were wearing, a pink dress that looks so comfortable and chic. What a beautiful place this seems to be with bright blue skies and sun kissing the colors of the culture. Enjoy, my dear!

I virtually live in white, especially broderie anglais and linen, during the summer. I break up with a little chambray blue in a casual jacket or pashmina. This year, however, I bought a bright orange/fuchsia print kaftan along with a fuchsia pashmina, and have been very surprised by how much I have worn them both. The only negative is that white needs laundering daily.

There are some lovely pieces here Vicki. I don’t usually choose white to wear unless as a blouse but I have purchased a white linen dress with bright coloured embroidery on the front. And I love it! So many options for accessories with my favourite being a pale apple green sling back shoe – who doesn’t love a simple sling back! I’ve worn once whilst in France but I unusually we’ve had some very cloudy days and storms yesterday here in St Remy but I know this won’t last and once again the sun will appear and the bright blue Provence sky will herald all is back to normal for a Provence summer. Enjoy your break Vicki.

Thank you, Janet… it’s wonderful to be in the sunshine and we are so fortunate the sun has been shining each day. Love the sound of your white dress :)
