It’s true, the khaki jacket is a wardrobe essential.
In my wardrobe, the khaki jacket has had pride of place for many years. We have talked about it before and I will go on singing its praises because come this time of year it is the first piece I reach for.
Why do I wear my khaki jackets so often?
Yes, there is more than one – I wear them in plain and in the camouflage prints. On different days I feel like wearing different styles.
You know how it is?
It goes over and with everything. A khaki jacket is great with black, with white and with the neutrals. I love it with red and even denim. It’s a win/win as a mixer.
For some reason a khaki jacket makes the very simple and classic look more up to date.
The khaki jacket is practical in most weather conditions. This style of jacket with multiple pockets is a perfect travelling companion. (Phone and glasses in my left; passport in my right pocket.)
Did I mention flattering? Especially those jacket styles that draw in at the waist and sit below the thighs. This is my little trick – gather more at the back of the jacket, above the spine and less in the front of the jacket for a more slimming line. Rather than a gather all the way through, create the fullness in sections. Game changer.
I was looking to update mine and found some beauties in the camouflage print. xv
