The flat boot is an easy win.
I like them worn with pretty much everything. There are lace-ups, Chelsea boots and the combat style. The “combat” is really a hiking boot with a little less hiking and a lot more fashion. The reason they work is twofold.
The platform sole gives a little bit of height and weight to what is above and the extra sole makes them super comfortable.
I found a fabulous pair to wear with everything – exactly the same as these from Gianvito Rossi – but at a fraction of the price. Yes, I do love the designers when it is worth it but in the case of these boots we truly can ‘get the look for less’. Compare them and I think you will agree.
These are perfect all weekend long and pretty much all week too. xv

Footnotes
Welcome to “Footnotes”.
Reading and watching films and series are my idea of heavenly relaxation.
During the holidays, these three entertained me and if you haven’t I think you will enjoy them.

Oh, I had a pair like this once and it’s so true: you can wear them with anything from a below-the-knee flaired flowered skirt to a black skirt and white shirt with black tights…Oh, I think I need another pair!
You do… to wear with “that” tulle skirt in your incredible photograph.. :)
Combat boots…. sooo chic and first of all sooo comfy. Wearable with jeans and silk
skirt. Bill Bryson…one of my fav authors, love his intelligent and yet humorous style of writing
Me too… I haven’t read many of his works but this one is truly fascinating. And the boots a great staple :)

The two popes is not factual.
Please pray for them.
I know that but I still enjoyed the acting – especially Jonathon Price – and like all “Hollywood”, it’s entertainment not a history lesson.
I like the look of combat boots with jeans and pants, however I am not sure about the look with skirts and dresses at 62. I Am thinking maybeI should bring out my old pair of Doc Martins from the back of the closet.
Good idea.. try and see what you think… 62 has nothing to do with it :) :)
Happy New Year! :)
I thoroughly enjoyed the Two Popes! What great actors.
I am loving The Queens of Mystery which I get on Acorn TV. I also love the Agatha Raisin mysteries, TV and books. And Midsomer Murders.
Books: I am reading the last of the Vera mystery books by Ann Cleeves. I will watch the Vera TV show next.
Thanks for sharing your “footnotes!”
We don’t get Acorn in the UK .. at least I don’t think so. I loved Vera… Benda Blethyn is fabulous in the role… I think you will enjoy the series, Missi.
