I was just sent the funniest quote,
“Black Friday is for amateurs. Real women shop all the time.”
Dare I say, I think it could be true but Black Friday is a gift if you are in the mood to shop and you know where to look.
Sales and I are getting along better together. We understand each other more which comes from rubbing shoulders over the years. Once upon a time, I did everything “wrong” when it came to sales. I bought not only what I didn’t need and didn’t particularly love but also what was hardly a good fit. The lure of the save reeled me in and threw me back in a very unforgiving manner.
Now, I plan before I buy, I choose the familiar and I seek out the classic.
Putting a signature look together is not only about the spend but also about the search.
This time of year with Black Friday and Cyber Monday as our playgrounds we can really make some great purchases. It is the time to buy those items we might not necessarily be able to afford at full price and to replace those essentials in our wardrobe we always have a reason to wear.
My wardrobe craves coats; all styles of coats. Every day means a different edit. Military-style jackets are a favourite of mine but so are puffers. I love the elegant double-breasted wool coat but then what about an evening jacket or our fabulous faux fur. The beauty of coats – there are no limits. And I forgot, what about the trench?
How many times does a good coat save the, “what to wear`’ day? In my life probably 50% of the time. Like shopping for dresses, this sale’s week is when I add a coat or two. This Happy Black Friday mix is about wrapping up; I am going across the board with a selection of delicious coats and a few beautiful jackets, all at greatly reduced prices. Happy browsing, xv.
