I have a thing for jackets.
All jackets but in particular, the utility jacket and the blazer; not to be confused with coats – they are a whole other story.
A jacket makes me feel good.
Really good. Whatever works, right?
When I wear a jacket I feel full of confidence and well dressed. There is nothing rational about this but it just is the way it is. A blazer with my jeans, a blazer and skirt or a blazer over tuxedo pants; it doesn’t matter where or when I simply love a blazer. And there are never too many, never ever.
I have loved jackets ever since I can remember and fashion and I go way back.
There is a jacket I am very fond of. It’s the one button jacket, almost reminiscent of a school blazer. This style, in particular, I wear with my jeans and with a fuller skirt. Skirts with this shape of jacket work very well and can flatter surprisingly. Think of the famous Dior silhouette – that’s where I take my inspiration for this outfit.
In summer the one button in cotton or linen is very workable and an asset in the wardrobe. Mine needs a refresh and I’m thinking lighter and brighter as the weather holds its own.
I admit I have been looking. xv
