You know these pants.
I have had a re-interest in cargo pants these last few days. The idea of “proper” dressing up is still floating somewhere in the back of my mind but I am trying to move out of the sweats and hoodies and dress a little differently. Even David commented on my “new love” for the tracksuit – that tells me much more than I want to hear ;)
Why do I like them?
Anything khaki coloured is a winner in my world. I like it with white, black and I especially think it works with grey. Khaki pants and a black tee with white sneakers is a really cute mid-season look. Throw on those jackets I talked about last week, in white and cinnamon coloured linen and this is one very easy outfit for everyone.
They have great style and flatter most women’s bodies. Whether you choose a narrower leg or an all-out baggy style with a belt, they work.
These days it’s sneakers/trainers all the way but I love them with a chunky ankle boot or even glammed up with a simple heel and tailored jacket. I’m keeping that in mind for my first dinner date.
We don’t need to invest heavily to get the look. Cargo pants, like these, are affordable and allow us to spend elsewhere on a more long-lasting wardrobe piece.
Mostly I love them because not only are they comfortable and adaptable but also they have detail and make a change from jeans and sweats.
I’m in a “Mash” khaki-inspired mood, for sure. The re-watch starts tonight. xv

P.S
Wear with this printed style or this linen utility jacket
A thoughtful reader just alerted me to this utility jacket – only available in a few sizes but if you are lucky, it’s fab.
