Never Underestimate This Jacket

Never Underestimate This Jacket on vickiarcher.com

The khaki one.

This season I keep coming back to my most loved and useful pieces. Is it a question of knowing myself and understanding what I need and like or is it about certain pieces not getting old? I believe it is both. The season’s fashion has not overwhelmed me with excitement and yes, I know what works and what I like.

My khaki jacket needs an update.

I wear khaki so often and always for travelling. It’s like a uniform that keeps on keeping on. I might get tired of wearing it but the problem is the khaki field jacket always looks good, even when I don’t feel it. Practicality is its middle name with pockets to hold all the necessities and make transiting through a busy airport much easier.

Khaki is a great look with the neutrals and the brights. Try it with sunshine yellow; it’s cute. Red and hot pink? Beautiful. Even all khaki is gorgeous if you brighten the lips and not to mention it is fabulous if silver hair is your shade.

I am looking for a lighter weight, a linen mix version so this one is perfect. A good length with pants or even a midi skirt and a couple of pockets to fill if need be. It is a soft slouchy fit and a little rumpled – I like that – if a more structured jacket is your go-to, I love this one. Want the look but prefer a shirt style, try this shape.

All I know is when it works, it works and the khaki jacket is one of those. xv

I agree the season’s fashion didn’t excite me too and yesterday I saw already the upcoming’s which is also disappointed. Was happy when I came home and saw all the
still beautiful and wearable clothes in my wardrobe just perhaps revamp some pieces with accessories. Khaki is such a basic colour and suits every type of women and the
jacket is forever like black…..ok you know it already.

I have a perfect khaki green utility jacket that I bought 9 years ago–and I felt I had to choose just one lighter weight jacket to bring on my three month summer sojourn, and picked the denim one. Vicki, you have made me doubt that choice! I am even living in a much cooler climate for the summer than home; here, a jacket is a necessity. I have a lightweight puffer style on order, and can’t wait until that arrives (and wish so much that it was arriving before I head to the Oregon coast this weekend!) But now I will have to think if I can justify having yet another new jacket–one of these lovely ones you’ve posted about. Hmm. . . .
