P.S… If You Are in The Mood To Shop

When the sales come along… and they do more and more frequently… it’s a good time to shop.

I like a bargain as much as the next person… but I am also aware that sale shopping can be costly.

These days I usually search for classics in the sales… tried and true favourites… more likely replacements than new discoveries.

Whenever I am adventurous, because the price is right… I am either sorry and out of pocket… or re-thinking, re-packing and calling the shipping company.

If you are in the mood to sharpen up your basics, Shopbop are offering 25% off and free International shipping until Thursday night…

I’ve been browsing … It would seem that there are plenty of great buys to add to the basket…

Here’s what I’m thinking…  xv

Re-Edit The Classics

JEANS     a new pair of skinnies will always have a place in the wardrobe… especially a black pair of j.brands

TOTES     the best everyday shape and practical travelling bag… the adele from pour la victoire gets my vote

CASHMERE    soft grey, steel grey… or a new black sweater from vince

BOOTS    the  newbury from rag & bone is easy to wear well

JACKETS     navy pea from rag & bone would work on the weekends

SHIRTS     their signature and the marion from equipment

I must go visit LE CHIC on Pinterest to get some good ideas. I have my eye on a pair of ankle boots that will look great with my black hose, but I do need a new pair of skinny jeans! I know that when I come here to FE, I never leave empty-handed! Have a magnificent day dear Vicki! Anita

I have learnt over the years to be a little more careful when sales shopping. You are absolutely right that it’s far better to use the opportunity to buy classics and this time it’s a new white shirt I’m looking for. My impulse buys in the past were not always a success and often worn just a couple of times before going to the charity store. I’m amazed just how many sales there are these days! Great photo!

Hi, VIcki,
I rely on your advice so much for my travels! My husband and our three adult children (plus significant others) had a magical trip to Provence last summer and your travel tips MADE the trip for us!!! I have thanked you before for this but am glad to do so again. Now we are in the midst of planning a trip to Australia for this Christmas and I am wanting to turn to you again. I have already printed a hard copy of your last post about Village Home which will be on my “must-see” list in Sydney but I wonder if you feel inspired to do a post on your favorite things to do in Sydney, Melbourne, Port Douglas, Great Ocean Road and the Great Barrier Reef? I know this is a lot to ask so if you have anything to share about any of these places, I would be so grateful–or if you particularly recommend a guide book. I have all of the usual suspects–Frommers, Fodors, and Insight Guides–but am always looking for another!
Thank you for this and for your always fun and inspiring blog!!
Best wishes, AnneHH

hi Vicki, I so love all your ideas here, “alot”, it is nice to see the super expensive things and seek
to find the look less expensive, and Iove it when you share other places for the looks that fit smaller pocketbooks too…..thank you….and again, I know the winner to visit you is still beaming in JOY within
your generosity…..XO

I’m a sucker for a sale! But I also, have to be in the mood to scour racks for the classics. Thanks for the fashion inspiration, Vicki. I love your taste.
