The red is everywhere.
I’m ambivalent about Valentine’s Day, not love and romance, just the focus on one day only as a way to celebrate. It’s a 365 deal for me; not everyday rosy perfection but profound love nonetheless.
What I am feeling is a hankering for red, the vibrancy of these rouge shades is so feel-good and fabulous. My nails are floating over the keyboard in pirate and I love the way they make me feel so much more put together and groomed.
I am proposing we add a little red to our life, whether it’s nails, lips, a sweater, a sneaker, or a new bathing suit. Red is a colour not only for love but also to love.
Here is what I’m thinking,
This dress is very similar to one I bought some years ago and I wear it with trainers or flats and a mid kee overcoat. It makes me feel great and it is one for the compliments. If you are in the right shape this deeper shade is absolutely stunning; incentive and inspiration wrapped up in one.
In no particular order I do love a red accessory. A trainer with an accent, a red ballet flat to wear with all black or a crossbody bag. All black and a dash of red is an easy eye-turner.
Chinese Lacquer Lips and Pirate nails if less red is your idea of more?
What about an oversized cotton sweater to wear with jeans and sweats. If you are on the silver hair journey or have arrived as I have, red has become almost a neutral for me. This sweater is also gorgeous in black and oatmeal shades – one of those I tend to have in a couple of colours.
My other red “must-have” is a swimsuit. I’m working very hard to have an excuse for this one but for now, I’m going with the classic. And I am loving the idea of these sunglasses with them.
