I am still like a child when a parcel arrives at the door… I don’t know what it is about brown paper and cardboard packages but they excite me. I even skip a beat with an Amazon box… call me silly, but I do… perhaps it’s the the thought of the unexpected or the pleasure in knowing that something you are looking forward to has arrived.
I was very spoilt recently when I opened up one such brown paper package to find the most beautiful coffee table book. I felt as if it were my birthday, so delighted was I by this gorgeous gift. Segreto: Secrets to Finishing Beautiful Interiors, by Leslie Sinclair, is a peak into the world of interiors but through the eyes of a decorative painter… The book is one visual treat after another and through her text Leslie explains the way that decorative finishes can enhance a home and make it unique. On first view I could not turn the pages fast enough – I wanted to see every home and every room that Leslie and her team of artisans have worked in… Since that initial look I have been savouring every image and enjoying every detail.
It is wonderful… xv
