‘Why have less when you can have more?’ certainly is the mantra at sketch in London.
This unique setting was created by restauranteur Mourad Mazouz and French master chef Pierre Gagnaire and opened in 2002.
A place for food, art and music, sketch definitely has the wow factor.
The restaurant is set over five different rooms and lounges. Each space has been designed and decorated individually, creating an eclectic mix of lively and luxurious restaurants.
The Gallery is a gastro-brasserie that serves dinner and afternoon tea. Painted and furnished in pink, it has the feel of a Wes Anderson film set.
The walls are lined with artwork created by Turner Prize winner David Shrigley and he has designed the extensive range of ceramic tableware.
The Lecture Room and Library is a luxurious two Michelin starred dining room. The creative and playful menu, created by Pierre Gagnaire, has a global vibe, taking influences from Britain, Spain, Japan and Italy, which is underpinned by the iconic French cuisine.
The quirky and eccentric Parlour is available all day, from morning breakfasts to evening drinks. The exquisite menu features the signature sketch cakes, as well as serving freshly brewed coffee and herbal teas.
The gorgeous setting of the Glade is magical. The walls are decorated like an enchanted woodland forest – think Alice in Wonderland.
sketch is a unique restaurant, combining a wonderful mix of different styles into one space. The individual designers presence in each room is apparent, with no room feeling like another.
It’s fun, fresh and fabulous – definitely worth adding to The London List.
