Let’s add something out of the ordinary to our mix.
Drab and not making the effort this year won’t cut it, even if we are performing for us and not others. I have never been more in need of colour than right about now. I managed to find Christmas flowers – at least fingers crossed I hope so – and I couldn’t look past red, every vibrant shade of. If we have to munch alone we will at least be surrounded by colour.
I found a dress and I am looking forward to wearing it on the 25th – I’ll be laying on the red lips too – to match the flowers.
And what about our feet? I was thinking a little “out of the ordinary” is needed. Some brocade, a little glitter or a fancy detail – a buckle here and a bow there. It’s now or never. Don’t you think?
I’m going to feel this Christmas spirit right down to my toes. What about a heel? Maybe they should come out to play?
What did you decide to wear? Here’s some out of the ordinary foot folly. xv

Hello Vicki! I will click and peruse and get some ideas! I know I’ll be sporting my red lips on Christmas; not sure what I’ll wear but it will have some SPARKLE!
Yes!!! Sparkle + red it is :)
It was cool enough to wear my bright red ZARA wool coat (from a few years back) to deliver gifts to front porches this week. A long drive to another town to drop off two little boys’ wrapped up trucks and helicopters – our cute as can be great grandsons – and then local drop offs around town, mostly bottles of wine, home baked cookies, and useful gift cards. Several chats from a distance with promises to catch up in the new year hopefully!
Somehow a black cashmere turtleneck and black joggers take on a whole new cheery feeling with a red coat thrown over! No red lipstick under the mask though – but once home again and unmasked I paint my lips! Here’s a lovely lip treatment you might enjoy – TATCHA’s “The Kissu Lip Mask” – a lovely little pink pot with a golden spatula – I use it every night at bedtime and again during the day – it’s fabulous! I’ve tucked some in grownup granddaughters’ gift bags too.
Happy Christmas to you and David dear Vicki – it will be different for all of us, however the true reason will never change and we can still celebrate alone and enjoy. May 2021 brings good changes. . . . . . and much missed travel! We’ve reservations for the UK in May/June – I need to come home so badly – this year is the first I’ve missed a visit in 50+ years!
Hugs – Mary x
