Stuart Weitzman: Make That Move

I have had a revelation this season.

It concerns boots and two pairs in particular, the Stuart Weitzman 5050 just above the knee suede boot and the Downtown lace up boot.

I’m having a major crush.

I began to fall under their spell towards the end of last winter and since then they have become increasingly front of mind.

I might not be able to rock them quite like Gisele in the Stuart Weitzman campaign but I am so inspired to change up my wardrobe and introduce a longer line boot.

Fashion is about working for us and making it ours. There is no reason why age should be an impediment to looking stylish and feeling wonderful. We can’t all have the body of a Goddess and legs that reach to the stars but we can find our way, a way that is unique and individual.

My daughter bought the longer over the knee Lowland boots and if you have legs like hers then it’s a crime not to. My slightly shorter 5050’s make me feel like I have her legs, I am not complaining.

The longer length boots tick all the boxes.

How to wear them?

I am wearing my 5050 boots with the little black dress.

The 5050 boot is the perfect length. On or just over the kneecap, making all the difference.

The length of my dress is just below the knee and even though the hemline covers the top of the boot when I sit or cross my legs there is a slight skin reveal. The extra length of the boot is so flattering; the legs look longer, there are no gaps between fabric and boot to cut the line and the lbd looks totally current.

One of those small differences that makes all the difference. The added length changes the game completely.

Then there are the downtown boots.

I am totally under their spell and when I first saw a pair (even before the gorgeous Gisele modelled them) I knew I had to find a way to wear them.

They work for me with midi dresses and skirts.

Style them with more “dressed-up” dresses. I like the idea of the casual lace-up peeping out from something quite tailored, that mixing of the unexpected. The “best dresses” will have many more outings this winter.

Did I mention how comfortable these boots are?

And flat. The stretch backs (both have stretch sides) make them super easy to slide into and wear with none of that depressing upset over the calves. Will they ever squeeze in? Will the zipper teeth meet without losing the skin on both my fingers? Easy access is a psychological triumph.

Wearing dresses in the winter season has never been easier.

The greedy girl in me dare not admit she would like the navy suede pair too, xv.
