She can throw a sweater on and add a pair of boots and look fabulous.
Blake Lively has the legs for this; I’m a huge fan of the sweater dress but like to wear mine longer and leaner.
This is one dress I never tire of, wear constantly and find it such a winner when I’m in the no-idea-what-to-wear frame of mind. right about now as summer has kicked in and I have worn and worn the floaty dresses my mind does turn to a little bit of fashion structure.
The new collections are showing sweater dresses in many incarnations – fuller, longer, narrower, with a belt and without. Cut-out backs and sides are also the go-to. I’m fancy when it comes to a sleeve but generally, I prefer the more simple styles and then by adding a cute trainer, a Mary Jane or a chunky boot I’m done. It’s the one dress that can look much more important than it really is.
A good hair day and a dash of red or bright pink lip and it’s a win/win. xv
