The Paris List: Small Bites

  • Paris-Leo-Greenfield-Vicki Archer

This summer in Paris there are some delectable small bites.

Yes, definitely see the major blockbusters showing around town but don’t miss some of the smaller exhibitions on show.

The Paris List: Small Bites

Sèvres Outdoors

Many contemporary galleries are moving their artwork outside to the gardens of the Cité de la Céramique at Sèvres. A selection of sculptures and installations are finding new homes – works by Johan Creten, Laurent Tixador and Mathieu Mercier. Whilst exploring the gardens, expect to see a crazy chandelier, upside down umbrellas and short film screenings – it’s a joyous exhibition for when the sun is shining.

On display are over 50 film characters and sets as well as over 350 concept drawings, character studies and storyboards. Screens displaying their most famous films and advertisements allow visitors to discover the dynamic creativity of the celebrated studio.

The exhibition brings the animated characters to life, and shows the viewer the process from an initial idea for a character, through to designing sets and producing the final films – it’s fun for all the family.
