The Skirted Round Table

One of the great joys of the internet is the chance to make friends all over the world.

I haven’t met the girls from The Skirted Roundtable, but after listening to their podcasts and reading their blogs for sometime, I feel as if I know them well.

Sitting down and chatting to them a week or so ago was such a pleasure.

Love the chairs. We're buying all new upholstered furniture later this year. I'd already decided on English (as we call it in the U.S.) rolled-arm sofas, and your chairs are the perfect style-scale-size to finish out our great room.

Merry Christmas. Joyeux Noël.

Love the cloches trick – now that solves the problem of guests accidently knocking over the glass treasures underneath! The whole room looks inviting and magically Christmassy. Clara could wander in there from her Nutcracker dreams…

.. just listened … the interview allowed us to know more … also great to learn about the skirted girls … I sort of accidentally fell into the blog world about a year ago, and I find it beyond amazing. I'm seeing your book in many bookstores in CT; I shop in mostly independent bookstores, and they seem to be aware of you and the blog. If it doesn't show up under the Christmas tree, I will purchase. I could see a book tour for you.

I'd say we were all the lucky ones! How special to meet blog friends around the world. When in Paris next month my days will be filled seeing old and new blog and Facebook friends.

THanks for introducing me to linda, joni and megan's blog. How nice you were all able to meet.

I agree with everyone, your living room is exquisite.

Joyeux Noël to you and your family, VIcki. I hope a meeting will be in our future as well.

Your living room is so lovely! I can't wait until I have a free moment to listen to your chat – maybe tonight with a glass of vin chaud while I do some holiday baking.

I've been covering my precious, fragile decorative items with cloches for years, but it's been to protect them from my marauding cats…I didn't know I was so fashionable!

Hello Vicki!
Followed your blog for a while (love things French esp. the language!)
Enjoyed listening to your chat.
Nice to know that you are an entirely accessible person who has great style but remains rooted in the earth (those olives!). I've always wondered about that! (I do confess I hate high heels, and have always sensed a major difference here : )
Oh, and delighted to hear about the tidbits of your life and if you & your children do actually speak French! Last, if was fun to see your photo of your living room…I remember reading about your purchase of some of those objects and felt like I was peeking into a friends house. Miles and worlds apart, connected by something ethereal called the internet.
Meilleurs Voeux pour 2011 & Joyeux Noel!

Hi Vicki,
I just finished listing your interview with those lovely ladies from SRT! It's funny… I feel the same way as you… I never met them but I feel like they've been my friends for a while. I love their interviews. Today, I had a nice time listening you chatting with them… Your stories and calm voice made me feel that I would like to meet you too (in France).
By the way, lovely living room. Oh… the fireplace matel: Beautiful. Oh, the window! Oh, everything… I love the white and silver Christimas decoration, and details.

I would like to wish you and your family a wonderful Christimas and New Year!

Saving the interview as a treat for this afternoon, Vicki, by the fireplace. Hope your holidays were happy ones, and you did not have TOO much snow, just enough to make it magical. xoxo Lidy
