designers know how to tailor and tinker.
As much as life has changed and we are all living in sweats and comfortable wear, I still love a fancy bit of tailoring. There is nothing like a perfect pinstripe or a cheeky check to put a pep in the step. Whatever we do and whatever our age a styled two-piece jacket and pants can look wonderful.
As we said though – life has changed and the total formal look is not the most wearable if life revolves around home and the great outdoors.
So how do we tinker the tailored?
For starters, I pull apart the pieces and will wear the jacket with more relaxed pants or even track pants.
If you like the look and the blazer is roomy enough then we can wear a fine hoodie underneath: The tailored blazer then becomes a mid-season coat of sorts.
Add the combat boots or trainers and the tailored is well and truly tinkered.
The same goes for a classic pair of pants. Wear a sweatshirt or a chunky knit and a longer coat.
If you are lucky enough to be out and about then I would tailor it all the way. What’s not to love?
Winter fashion is the one I am impatient for and examine from site to site and cover to cover. I can’t see enough coats, jackets and boots and as much as I love a floaty dress, a gorgeous caftan, or a linen pant – nothing is as tempting as a new winter jacket. I feel like I have won the fashion sweepstakes.
Working with the times is how we stay au courant so if I have to tinker with the tailored then that’s what I’ll do. xv
