Update Your Living Room

London Interior Designer Rita Konig shares her three go to formulas for reinvigorating your house without calling the decorators in and feeling as though you have to throw everything out and start again.

Rita explains, “You can change it up so easily just by moving the dial a little bit to the left or right and moving things around.”

Firstly, rearrange your art. I love this idea and I think it’s a great way to relatively easily change the look of a room.

Another simple way to add some texture and bring in new patterns is by adding some new soft furnishings. Rita suggests buying an old quilt or a throw and using it over the back of the sofa, or even the whole thing and then adding some new pillows. An quick way to create a new vibe.

To completely and utterly change the whole feel of a room Rita recommends to “just literally move all the furniture around.” I definitely subscribe to this theory and will admit that, much to my husband’s bewilderment, I do this on a fairly regular basis. xannabelle
