Vintage Berlin

Sometimes things just work out.

Like this…I am in Berlin and so is Toma Clark Haines…otherwise known as the Antiques Diva. After a couple of tweets (see tweeting can be very purposeful) we both established that we were in the same city at the same time….not something that is easy to co-ordinate for either of us.

Toma, the most gorgeous bubbly girl that you could hope to meet, offered to scoop me up and show me her ‘vintage’ Berlin. Great girl company, vintage finds and a new city to discover…this was my idea of heaven.

The afternoon was perfect…the temptations off the charts – it was only the thought of the carry on baggage allowance that gave me any semblance of self control.

Where to shop… one long fabulous street called Suarezstrasse, in the Charlottenburg area
Favourite vintage… Antik-Center, numbers 48 and 49

My trip to Berlin has been full of unexpected pleasures. I have been introduced to a side of the city that I would never have found for myself…thank you Toma….I loved our day, xv.

Oh, Vicki! Thanks so much for sharing your discoveries – Berlin is one of my favourite cities so this is a real treat for me. J x

How fun and serendipitous! What a great afternoon it looks like you had. Enjoyed it. Twitter is pretty fun to use. I am still learning the ropes on it though. By the way, I am having a giveaway over on my Gloryfeathers blog.

How fabulous for you. This turns an already wonderful trip into an extraordinary adventure! My thoughts turn to my upcoming trip to New Orleans for Spring Break. Perhaps I should consider the "twitter" possibility…

A Gift Wrapped Life

I think I would just have to ship by container, what a wonderful day and so many tempting things. Sounds like you chanced upon the most wonderful guide and shopper. So far, berlin has been fabulous for your blog! Much love XO

I love it when those things work out! Looks like you had a wonderful time. I do hope you got to bring SOMETHING back in your carry-on?

A Thousand Clapping Hands

Those hats! Those suitcases! I think I would enjoy shopping in Berlin…and how great to be able to do that with Toma, who is one of the nicest people I've met in blogland. Enjoy it all.

Oh, I am so excited about your new camera! That chic black slick looker and great performer. I can't wait to see more pictures!

The vintage suitcases would have tempted me beyond belief. What better excuse than to buy one and then having fill it with more vintage goodies?

Enjoy Berlin, a city have yet to discover. I always thought Europa is small, compared to the USA, but once one is living here, the borders stretch and stretch. ;-)

Looks like you saw Berlin in ideal conditions Vicki, I went years ago as a student, before the wall came down. I'd love to go back now, the underground art movement there is apparently spectacular.

Wow, such fabulous vintage finds…tell us you did bring a few things back….:) Sounds like a wonderful day and trip! Much love to you! xxoo

Vicki: I adore the hunt and with a friend(Toma) who knows the in's and out's of the city shops-it doesn't get any better than that. A BIG "thank you" to you both. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com

Those suitcases are to die for! Too bad they don't make them like that anymore (at least not in the price range I can afford). Thanks for sharing and I hope you are having a wonderful time.

How wonderful! while I was in the showroom selling another toilet, sink, faucet or vanity, you were in Berlin…I love that I can live vicariously through all the bloggers around the world! thank you for sharing Vicky!! :))
