What To Wear For A Night Out in Paris? I’m Going To Say, Lace

place vendome, carla coulson, departure lounge, vicki archer

What to wear for a night out in Paris?

I am going to say, lace.

Carla captured this evocative Parisian night in the Place Vendôme.

The street lights, the two looking out from the balcony at the Christmas decorations and Boucheron, one of the most beautiful jewellery houses in the world.

How glamorous and romantic Paris looks?

It’s Cyber Monday, I promised shopping edits and my inspiration came from Carla’s photograph.

There is one thought in my mind today after thinking of Paris and that is lace.

I will be in Paris next week and lace is definitely going in the suitcase beside the leather and the cashmere.

Lace is one of my most favourite “extras” in the wardrobe. I love it dressed up and I wear it dressed down.

Lace is feminine, elegant and ageless. Lace looks wonderful worn with jeans, with sneakers or with heels and an elegant coat.

I have been adding lace pieces to my wardrobe for twenty years and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

Paris and lace… a very pretty pair. Don’t you think? xv

This photo is so evocative isn’t it… I loved it and it does remind me of many strolls around that beautiful Place Vendôme… and many old French movies that have been filmed there… :)

Vicki thank you for the reminder. I have a black lace blouse that I’ve not worn for awhile…time to get it out!

Lace is timeless. I don’t think you can ever go wrong with lace. It somewhat epitomizes femininity. Great suggestion for evening wear, Vicki.

Hi Vicki all I can say is…. beautiful… and I love the look of leather and lace. Thank you for sharing beauty. Regards Esther from Sydney. PS it has been so hot during the day and then the storms come in and it seems to cool down. It would be nice if it continued to be cool at nights, or is that asking for too much?

Love Carla’s photo, a quick peek into a different life. I headed right for the Mystic blue Tadashi Shoji sheath dress….oh my, it’s my absolute favorite color! I still have a silk dress that color hanging in my closet that I wore to a fabulous NYE party in the late 80s. If only I could get this lace dress! Lately, my style is much more like the Spanish Mule velvet slippers from ODLR which I think would be great with the J Crew Curator pants. J Crew also has two beautiful lace dresses called No. 4 & No.6…found in their wedding collection.
