Wrap It Up

London… where I am for the moment… is getting chilly… I’m thinking about the fire, the cosy and the coats…

I have been making inspiration boards for my office…  ripping up a storm with the magazines and the newspapers… visual wish lists, prompts and dreamy ideas… all together in one place.

It’s therapeutic putting all the images and scenes together… making an impromptu story board not only is relaxing but also illustrates what’s on the mind… at least in a fashion sense.

The combination of all this eye candy and the cooler temperatures has focused my mind on coats… These snaps from my boards have me planning my winter warm-up…

This year, I am thinking that the cocoon over-sized shape worn with ankle boots looks pretty cute… I can also see myself wearing this shape on the weekend with skinny jeans and cheslea style boots… or in the evening… over the leopard spots with some heels…

I am also pretty partial to a tailored double breasted shape with or without some fancy buttons… I don’t mind a little military sharpness, like this Barbour Commander Coat in my wardrobe…

And I like the three-quarter length worn with ankle boots… or the knee length double breasted for a more formal occasion… Doesn’t Charlotte Casiraghi look perfect with that man style white shirt peaking through? Or what about a Tuxedo style?…

What are you wrapping up in this season? xv

Good morning Vicki! I really, really love that leopard print skirt in the photo with the medium brown sweater, the little laced color blouse under it, the brown socks and oxford shoes! That would be perfect for these chilly but not yet freezing days of school! I am going to wrap myself today in a darling little wool coat-dress; it’s dark blue with a ruffled skirt and collar. It’s hard to describe, but with black tights and ankle boots, I feel the part of a French teacher, clicking and clacking my heels down the hall!!!!! That’s what a great outfit should do: make you feel important.

Vicki, thank you for coming by through a rain of gold and leaving such a heartfelt little message. It means a lot to me, coming from YOU! Anita

Vicky, I won’t inform you but a over sized coat is only looking good on tall ladies and I guess this fashion will be out of season next winter. Consider . Sorry being so forthright.

I have this mental image of you Vicki ….. arms flailing, pages of magazines flying in the air, ripping, cutting !!!!!
I already have military and tuxedo and have just acquired yet another cropped military jacket ….. jackets and coats are my ‘ thing ‘ and I need to stop buying them !!
We had tea at Claridges on Sunday ….. a Christmas present from last year that I had only just got around to booking …… the weather was AWFUL ….. rain, rain and more rain …. still, it means that I can wear all of my coats !!!!
Keep warm whilst in London Vicki and, keep researching the fashion …. I always follow your links and nearly always buy something from your recommendations. XXXX

I like the idea of ripping up pictures and putting ideas together to make a beautiful collage. I pulled out some spring clothes today and it was lovely to wear cream and green and purple (my other black). A great day, the sun has been shining and I’ve booked our flights to Ireland and France for next year. All this topped off a great weekend in Albany WA catching up with family and friends and a game of golf. Have a lovely week in London.

This is a wonderful shopping(window)trip for me. I LOVE the styles, especially the double-breasted black coat. Thans for the fun and sharing.
